"We chose this 'new home for Dad' after looking at almost 25 others in the Riverside and Orange County areas. It's very expensive compared to other facilities! but hopefully wonderful! My father moves in this weekend so I don't have first hand knowledge as of yet, but everyone seems very nice and caring. They have told us the ratio is 1 caretaker to 3 residents...better than most if the ratio is true. The facility is clean (however, it's brand new as well....so it should be clean!). The activity/dining room as very large and open to the outside secure garden area...a nice touch. The building next door is Capriana (also expensive compared to other facilities) for assisted and independent living....a five star hotel if ever there was one! The grounds are lovely, the rooms are nice, the food is good. "

"Bradford Square was extremely nice, and I was very impressed with it. It would be somewhere I would like to have my mom because it was close to me. It reminded me a lot of the place where my mother is now, and in fact, that’s why I liked it. It wasn’t over the top or anything like that, just very nice. It’s a little expensive, though. "

"We toured Clearwater at North Tustin. It looks very fancy. People with rich money could go there. It was like a very newly renovated place. Everything looks brand new, really pretty. They have a nice outside garden area, and they have a very nice-looking restaurant inside."

"My friend moved into Bliss Care Home. This is a boarding place. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very nice. Everything is very nice. It has a nice backyard, lots of fruit trees, an area where they can sit out, and a covered gazebo. Their living atmosphere is friendly, quiet, and nice. They have activities for the guests. The other three women that are there are nice. She has someone to converse with. I would put someone in there again if I had to. I would use their services again. I haven't found a problem with them."

"We went to and really liked them. It was really pretty. It takes dogs, but you can’t walk out of your room without walking out the front and going through the whole complex to take the dog out, so it doesn't work. The staff was super nice, though. I thought the rooms and facility were OK. They had activities happening. "

"I went to Columns Care Home yesterday and toured it. It's nice, and it's a nice set-up. They only have six patients, and they seem to have all of the right things they need to take good care of them. It looks like a nice, clean place. It looks like a good facility. I met four staff members altogether, and they all seemed very nice and very caring like they would take care of my brother very well if he goes there."

"We went to tour. It was really nice. It was all newly remodeled. It was beautiful and very clean. It was great. It was very bright in there with lots of light, and very cheery. The staff members were super nice. They had a car show going on, so that was great. The residents were handing out snacks to people, so they were very involved in the car show, and they all were out there. For my dad, I think that's where we're going to go with."

"My mother loves the staff. She enjoys playing the trivia games, crossword puzzles and meeting new neighbors. My mom is a diabetic and this is the only place that she could go to. The menu is the same for everyone, so she has to be careful of what she eats."

"It was pretty close to me and it was very nice. I liked what I saw. The accommodations were very nice. The staff was very helpful, very informative, and very friendly. They had a gym, a salon, a dining area, an activities room, and an outside patio that the memory care people could be in."

"I went to Cogir of Brea. It wasn't spacious, but for the population, it accommodated them well. But it just didn't feel as warm as it seemed. It was very modern. It was more or less a hotel, I would say. They had a small courtyard and an arts and crafts type room. The dining area is more cafeteria-like."

"Oakmont of Orange was a very, very nice community. It's just a much larger deposit and a higher price for the studio apartment than others, but it's a fantastic facility. It's beautiful. They have both assisted living and memory care, but we were primarily there to talk about memory care support. The shared rooms were a little smaller, but they were still very nice. The studio was very large and very, very nice. I got a tour from the representative and I kind of met some of the staff. The staff seemed very nice. They seemed very well-managed and very organized."

"My grandfather lived here for 4 months after developing dementia. He was a difficult patient as he had lost most of his memory and become angry and paranoid, however the nurses were very kind to him and dealt with his behavior. While I'm not sure the nurses may have been the most schooled, they were definitely very kind and helped to put him and my family at ease. In my opinion, this was more important because there is no cure for Alzheimer's and my family only wanted him to be as comfortable as possible. He never developed bedsores or other infections that often plague bed ridden patients, which made us more confident in his stay there. While there many programs offered to residents of the home, my grandfather was unable to participate in most of them; therefore I am unable to comment on their usefulness. Overall I would definitely recommend this facility for patients with dementia as the nurses seemed to know how to care for these patents and made their comfort a priority. "

"On a visit to this facility for a school project, I came to learn that Richman Gardens is composed of 4 lots which have been converted into a RCFE. The home-like atmosphere along with the "go-getter" attitude of the Executive Director have allowed for Richman Gardens to stand out in the city of Fullerton. During my visit, I met with a family whose loved one has been residing in Richman Gardens for 3 years. The family members enjoy the reminiscent feeling of the home. They stated that a calm, peaceful environment makes all the difference when it comes to selecting an alternate form of housing. In the case of their loved one, she was a homemaker and is pleased with being able to water the garden. This place is very cozy and welcoming. It provided with a clearer perspective on how a small memory care community can flourish. "
