I had put money down at Madonna Manor; I was ready to move then. I really love it there. This place is my favorite. I just love the location. However, they were tearing down all their old cottages and building new ones. It was beautiful there. The location and the amenities were just wonderful. They had so many things going for them. The food was good. They had a lot of activities. I met a lot of people that live there, and they love it there. I would love to be there, but I don't know if I will be able to afford it when the new buildings go up.

My parents are current residents of Madonna Manor. It is our choice for them because it is a Catholic Community and they offer mass every morning. My parents are in the ALF now. However, they can advance in their level of care if they need to in the future. With regards to accommodations, where they're right now is very comfortable. They have been there for three weeks now. I believed they moved in August 31st. The food is very good. You can order off a menu or there is a special everyday. Their dining room is very nice. It's like a restaurant. They did have activities for their residents. My mom does almost every activity that they offer. She would play Wii, does bingo, etc. I think they have a women's group too. Just this Monday night, they had a nice concert. My dad, on the other hand, doesn't participate in as much. He's got his porch and he likes his porch. Residents of Edenton are doing wonderfully. My mom is very pleased with this place. My dad has a little bit of dementia so it's a little confusing for him, but he's content. This place has a sense of family and this is actually the aspect about it that I like most. They have this warm environment. I would recommend this place to others.
