I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My relative is a resident of The Village. It's very clean. He's very well kept, and he has very good care. He's always clean and looks clean. They get him up and around, and he likes the food a lot. I really do like it a lot. We were just thinking maybe if we could find something cheaper, but considering they have the nursing home right there also, we just kind of decided that might be best. I have tried the food and it is good. He doesn't participate in activities because that's just him, but they do have them. I can't say a lot, but I know they've asked him. He likes to go out, watch TV, sit and visit, and stuff.

I visited this facility

The Village, Indianola felt like it was a better fit for my dad. It was a larger community, and it seemed like they had more activities. There were more people out socializing than at the other community that we visited. I like the grounds. It just felt like a better fit for his needs. As a visitor, we did have to wear our masks the whole time. The residents that were in the common areas were not required to. They took our temperature and did a screening when we first walked in, so that was good to see that they were following guidelines. I also like the fact that we didn't have to commit to a certain period of time. It's just month to month, so that was huge for us. I also asked if they accept Title XIX if my dad at some point runs out of money, and they said they do take Title XIX waivers, so that was huge, too.

So far The Village has been good to my dad. They were very caring, very efficient, knowledgeable and accommodating. They've been very good with communication. I don't know of any activity right now but I do know that they had several activity directors because I've talked with two of them. They've both been very nice and they just helped with some other questions that I've had. I have not asked about what activities that they're doing but I do know that he does go out to a cafe or a lunch room area for 3 course a day. Whereas, the previous place he was at, he was only eating in his room every day. The food seems quite good. My dad doesn't really have any complaints about it. It doesn't look like a nursing home. It looks very nice. I've seen the outside and it looks like a community. I've seen just the entry way of the inside and it's very nice, neat and tidy, up-to-date and modern looking.
