"Genesis Village was okay, but it was a lot of walking. I'm not a walker, and we had to stop a couple of places, but the staff was trying to show me everything. She was very knowledgeable. They had a pool and three different arts and crafts rooms. The rooms were apartment-sized. They were smaller, but you had a little stove. The staff wasn't as outgoing as the other one, but I felt more comfortable with her. They had a lot of parking, too."

"Rooms are kept clean. Staff is very attentive. I have been there at different times of the day and days of the week and the attention to the residents is consistent. The meals are wonderful; good variety. No place is perfect, but this one comes close. "

"The Meadows has a homey atmosphere and a small community. There are a lot of rural fields and a pond to look at, and it's a lot cheaper. The dining room is great. They had a happy hour on Friday afternoons where the residents family can come in and have snacks. The staff is very pleasant. They have different things going on, like church services, bible studies, and bingo. There’s one area that is so nicely decorated that the community comes in and uses it for weddings. It’s been a very pleasant experience so far. "

"We just returned from a multi-day visit with a family member who is a resident in the Special Care Unit at Fairlawn Haven. Our family member has been a resident for almost a year and we have been delighted with the care of the staff in the unit where she is. Of course, there has been a transition period between independent living and the "group home" situation that becomes necessary at some point. The staff at Fairlawn have been understanding and supportive from day one and the result has been acceptance and a true sense of affection for the caregivers in the unit. Being at a considerable distance from Archbold, we have relied the past year on the Social Services Manager, Kris for her help with communications via Skype sessions, emails and her advice in general. She and the nursing staff have been our eyes and ears. We offer our thanks for the safety, comfort and well-being of our loved one. "

"My sister and I were very impressed with The Heritage Inn. We both had someone who was at that facility for some period of time, so we knew of it, and we knew it was very highly rated. We were just blown away by how wonderful and beautiful a home they provide for so many different people. The staff was very helpful, very comforting, and very wonderful. The whole experience was very good. The rooms were kind of open, like you have a good feeling of being able to breathe there. I know a lot of places they have very small bedrooms, and they are almost claustrophobic. Also they allow patients to bring some of their own furniture if they so wish. They encourage them to hang pictures on the wall. They were very homey. We had a meal at The Heritage Inn, and it was very nice and very delicious. They have a dietitian on staff who can take care of certain diets that must be kept. Food all tasted good. The one thing that was a negative about this place was that they do not take Medicaid patients, and that was important to us. "
