"We chose Covenant Living of Golden Valley. We liked how happy everyone was, the involvement of people in the community, and the interactions that people had with each other. The residents were just interactive, happy, and welcoming. It just depends which room you get. Some have laundry, some don't, and it depends on the size of the room. But one thing about them, there's a buy-in option, but you can redecorate your room how you want it before you move in."

"We moved into assisted living here. It's a brand-new building and it has so far been just fine. We're just kind of getting settled in. It's wonderful and it's really nice. The apartments are really nice. The staff is very good. The food and dining setup looks OK. They have a gym and craft room. They have an activities director who's doing a survey right now with all the new residents to see what activities they want. They offer daily grocery transportation and one-day-a-week rides to doctors appointments."

"Havenwood of Maple Grove seemed very nice. They didn't have the unit that I wanted available. So, I kind of didn't go back there. The rooms were nice. There were some things that I didn't like. There weren't many closets. I didn't meet very many people, but the person who gave the tour was very nice. It was clean."

"My mother was a patient there. The staff was compassionate and caring. The leadership was attentive to suggestions for improvement. The rooms are small and the amount of natural light was limited. The food was good. "

"We were treated very well at Cornerstone. I thought the staff was excellent. It’s close to grocery shopping, to our doctor, and all that stuff. It’s just a convenient location for us where shopping and everything else is. It was a very good place. They had something like a wait room, an exercise room, and a woodwork shop. They had just done some painting on the walls, and there’s new carpeting in the hallways, so it’s very excellent. There’s no smell to it; it’s very clean. I would say it would be worth checking out. "

"I liked the location of Ecumen North Branch because it was so close to me. The apartment that I was shown was more than satisfactory as far as the layout, as well as the safety bars put up in the bathroom and such. I liked that they offered wi-fi. The cellphones worked in the building. You didn't have to have a special carrier or a special cellphone. I liked the attitudes of the staff, their approach, and their philosophy. The common room and dining area were very adequate and appeared to be very roomy and bright. The facility was very clean and odor free. I did see some people playing checkers or chess. I did see some people just chatting in the coffee area. They were showing a movie in the chapel area, so that was good to know that they have that as an entertainment aspect."

"The Wellstead of Rogers Diamondcrest Senior Living is the best place we've been to yet, and my mother has been in and out of different places. They're very caring people, and they stay on top of things. They have ice cream socials, concerts, and they have birds in the facility itself. We're happy and very pleased with everything they do. We get notified about things when we're supposed to. The staff has been wonderful. She was so picky with food before, but she's been eating very well there. It's a lot more of a personal type of place because it's small. It's locked up, and we have a code to get in and out of the facility, so they can't wander off. This way if they wander, they're not able to get out of the facility. The care has been really good."

"It was quite nice. It would've been my choice, but my uncle didn't like it. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and friendly. They have the senior center there, so people who weren't staying there can also come and participate. The rooms seemed very nice."

"Elim Shores is a great option for families looking for a warm, kind, and personable community. My mom lived there for 18 months and I only moved her recently for closer proximity to me on the other side of town. We found the campus super easy to navigate and not so huge that she couldn't find her way around. She loved the friends she made, and the staff worked together to make it fun. They actually knew all of their residents personally, and could help a family see if there were any needs that a family member may have. The pricing for an Eden Prairie facility is excellent. Many facilities have become so cost prohibitive, it makes it hard on a family estate. The location is easily accessed, yet very peaceful on a lake. The staff really made it a great environment with a sense of positive community. That always comes from the management on down, and Chris worked hard to create "fun" for the residents. The activity options were great, and Becky the activity director is pure joy. We are very thankful as a family to have places that we can customize help for our mom. Elim Shores was a big help in our being able to accomplish that. "

"Waverly Gardens was the best. Everything is top quality and excellent. It’s homey. However, it requires a lot of money out. "

"I will be moving into Oak Hills Manor. It's a smaller community. There were probably 30 to 40 units there. It's quiet and friendly. The staff was very congenial and explained the facility well. They showed me everything. The apartment was spacious compared to many of them that I had seen. It's an older apartment building, so it's not the latest in appliances and stuff like that; that's not a big deal for me. It had garage parking and storage available. The parking was extra, but the storage wasn't. They had seating areas throughout the building. The apartment was well kept. They have a maintenance man, and I know that the manager does some of the maintenance, too. They were working outside with the grounds when I came, so I'm sure they are doing a good job."

"Shoreview Senior Living is very nice and fairly new. We were the first people in our apartment. We have decorated it exactly the way we want it. We have most everything except TV. We rented it. We do our own cooking in our own little apartment. They take us to different places every week. If there is a place we can take a car, we can have the car. We also have our own furniture. "
