"My dad was in StoneBridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for rehab five years ago. I was reluctant for him to go back because I was not pleased the last time he was there. But it changed, and it came under new management. I was pleasantly surprised when I went back this time. They had upgraded many things in the facility. I was impressed with the quality of the staff. They don't have enough staff, but the staff that they do have are quality people. The facility was clean. It was a large facility. The food was a great improvement. For what's available in this community, I think it's a good alternative. If my dad ever gets to a place where I could take him out of memory care, I would consider this facility again."

"I am at the Voyage Senior Living of Herrin. I am receiving medicine maintenance and baths. It's being locked down because of Covid, and it's almost a year this coming March. We don't have enough to do here, so I'd like more things to do. It is an older building, and they have not kept it up that good. We have a beauty shop, we have coloring, bingo, and sometimes entertainment, but it's not as much as we used to have. We have transportation, but not as much as we used to have. Instead of us going into the shop and getting our stuff ourselves, we have to order it now and they will pick it up for us. We are not allowed to go out. The staff is real friendly, and they care. If the staff is not good here, they won't last long."

"My girlfriend worked here for 4 years and overall she enjoyed the atmosphere. I personally visited this nursing home for countless reasons, within my time inside I noticed the overall health of the residents to be satisfactory. All the residents I saw seemed to be enjoying their stay and were taken very good care of. The nursing home pushes greatly on the way it is represented and the quality of the facility. My girl friend told me the DON puts lots of money into making the place look nice and feel very home like. From the few different nursing homes I have been in, this one seemed the friendliest and that I would feel safe and secure if I were to put a family member in there. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, very easy to get a long with and accommodates most your needs. I also noticed that the staff truly cares about the residents, many of them get very upset when one passes away and feels as if they lost a member of their own family. "

"Reflections Memory Care - Carterville was well designed and well laid out. It's very friendly and open. It had a real sense of caring when you went in there. The staff was very bright, cheerful, compassionate, and dedicated. The outside areas were very nice, large, and very conducive to spending some time outdoors. The layout was really good. Each apartment opens up into the common area, so residents won't get lost. Everything about it seemed pretty good to me. It's very well kept up. They were in the process of upgrading some of the furniture, but other than that, it was well laid out."

"I was very pleased with Parkway Estates. It was very clean and spacious. They're very quick to update the carpet if there are any stains whatsoever. They spend a lot of time cleaning it, they have housekeeping once a week. They also do their laundry for them if they want. They have units that you can step into, if she needs additional care later, where they have 24-hour a day nursing care seven days a week, and three meals a day. So, as her condition gets worse, we have the option to have additional care. I have met with Angie several times, and she has been very accommodating and kind; she's a good listener. She addressed all my sister's questions and took all the time that we needed. She's been very supportive. Their dining area was in excellent condition. The rooms were spacious with a walk-in closet, a full kitchen, and there's a door that leads out onto a patio because they can have their own private patio. They regularly do activities. They're taking anyone who wants to go to Rendleman Orchards, and as the peaches come in they'd have peach cobbler and peach ice cream. A lot of the seniors like to do that, so they have regular activities."

"I have been to Liberty Village, and I really like them. They have a step-down unit. I thought the place was beautiful, and very clean. It was obvious that they take extreme measures to keep it clean. The staff said, "We don't just cover up odors with sprayers and cleansers if we need to. We do whatever we have to do to keep it clean." They have a bounce back program there. If they need physical therapy, they can do that. They have a lot of activities. They can have dinner or meals in their own apartment, or they can join the community area, and there's no set time. They don't all show up at a certain time, they can eat anytime between 10:00 and noon for lunch, and they order off a menu. It's not like everybody eats the same thing, I like that. They have a lot of activity. I just thought it was very nice. The staff who gave me the tour, she just seemed very caring, and I felt at ease talking to her. I felt they were people of integrity. I did not try their food, but it did looks very good. They have a little aviary in the middle of the dining area with birds flying. It looks more like a restaurant than a traditional nursing home cafeteria. The apartments are spacious. It has lots of natural sunlight. You can bring your own furniture. They look lovely, and they have all of the safety measures that you would want in terms of pull cords in every room, and handrails. That was reassuring. The facility is very well-maintained, easy to get around, and close to where I live."

"Heritage Woods of Benton is very clean, seems safe and they can do your medicines. My mother will have people take care of her, but yet still have some freedom because it's assisted living. They've got three meals a day, and they will do her laundry. The rooms were big and cozy, and I like that the bathroom was in the bedroom. They've got a mini refrigerator, a microwave, a sink, and a kitchenette."

"A group from Active Day came to the stables for a visit/field trip. They were excited and pleased to be able to brush a horse, have their picture taken with a horse. They enjoyed telling stories about their horses or experiences with horses. Of course, being outside on a beautiful day, enjoying a picnic lunch overlooking the pasture full of horses, can't get better than that! The staff was attentive, kind and caring in making this happen."

"My mom moved into Fairview Nursing Center. It's been pretty good. She's had some issues with health and stuff, but they've been on top of it, and I'm very pleased with how they're taking care of her. It's an older building, but they have been doing some updates. The facility is safe and the whole environment is a good one. It's a very loving environment. I've only eaten there one time myself, and it's very nice. They have a good selection, and my mom enjoys it. The cooks are very well trained, and they do a really good job of meeting all the people's dietary requirements. The staff has been very nice and very caring. They are very capable people."

" NO Star. The said they would take my brother I done all the paper work one evening the next day they called and told me that they couldn't because he would cost to much to take care of him. She told me to stop giving him chemotherapy treatment then they would take him. She wanted him to give up so they could make money off of him. There is no way I will put him there. She should have not told me that. "

"The Landings at Reed Station Crossing was beautiful. I would love for my grandmother to be able to go there, but she cannot afford it. The person during the tour was very friendly, very nice, and very helpful. The dining area looked like a nice, little restaurant, and they had a menu that they can pick from. They had just finished an activity when we got there, but I was given a list and they had a big board that has the activities. It was very clean, they showed us the rooms, and the residents seemed to really like it there."

"My mother went to Sunshine Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care. It was rough because she moved from a home that she lived in for over 70 years and it was a very sad move, but after she adjusted, she liked it. It looks very homey and we've got her set up. She's in the studio apartment so she's not in a big apartment. They have microwaves and they happen and I think they got us the TV stand that they had extra. So, they helped us out a little bit. They are very friendly. I like them. It's one price and the meals are included in that. The food seems to be the highlight. Most of the ladies say they like the food. The cleanliness is great. The building is large. They have bingo and nail polishing. I was just there today and one of the residents was excited about there's going to be a band there Friday night. It is well worth the money."
