My father is currently a resident at this facility. I can't say it's the worst place only because I haven't witnessed physical abuse, sorta. If you want to include letting an 89-year-old fall seven times due to lack of attention physical abuse, then so be it. My father lies in bed in urine-soaked clothes and bedding. The "help" NEVER takes him to the bathroom. He can't walk. They NEVER come into his room except for someone to drop off his meds or bring his meals. My father does his best to make his own bed from his wheelchair every morning! Their website says that the patient's mental and spiritual needs willl be met - a joke! My father is ALWAYS alone except for when we come up there, and when there, there is always the cries and pleading of a woman down the hall for someone to help her. I would not give this any stars if able. What do we pay over $5250 for? I hate this place an do NOT recommend it!

I have a friend who lives at River Ridge, and when I visit her I constantly hear alarms beeping from different residents' rooms and no one tending to the residents' needs. I recently witnessed a resident begging three nurses to take her back to her room so she could use the restroom and the nurses continued their conversations and ignored her. My friend has commented to me about the poor quality of care she gets in there, and I can see it. I am so sad that she has to live there.

My boyfriend is now at River Ridge. He's been there for two weeks now. He seems well cared for there. It is clean but the rooms feel very institutional and he doesn't like the food. They have different social hours. They have volunteers who come and do singing. The staff is very friendly and very nice.

I would have given this no stars but the rating does not allow that. My sister in law was in this place last year for a couple of weeks. The building is old and run down. The staff are not attentive to the patients but I think that is because it seems there is 1 staff to 20 patients. My sister is mostly paralyzed and I never felt comfortable with her being there alone. We pulled her out of this place as quickly as we could. I wouldn't let a rat live here.

My mother is at River Ridge. It's not a good place. We're moving her tomorrow. I even had a couple of the staff members tell me we should move her out. They said they would NEVER have a relative of theirs stay there. We've had so many problems with the place that I don't know where to begin. Let me just mention a few. Staff is poorly trained, some of them are high school students. I've seen nurses drop off meds without staying to be sure the patient takes the meds. Call lights are on for excessive amounts of time as residents wait for help. Communication isn't good. Ask three different staff members the same question and get three different answers. I never felt my mother was safe there.
