"When we visited communities, St. Paul's Senior Community is the one that has an area where you can go downstairs and eat. It was really nice, but we couldn't afford it. We looked at their independent living community, and they were very clean. You don't really have to cook a lot because they prepare meals for you. The apartment was really nice, too. The staff members were very nice. They gave us brochures on everything."

"I like everything about the independent living at The Atrium of Belleville. However, my dad needs more than that. I enjoyed the staff I talked to, and the rooms are great. The dining facility is great, too. Everything is just easy access. Everything is good. The staff who gave the tour was very professional and very caring. He loves his job. They offered transportation, outings, and three meals a day. They offered laundry and said they had entertainment, which is on their schedule."

"I toured Fields of Florissant. I liked the little villas. They were perfect, with a little attached garage. The staff who assisted with the tour were very professional and concerned. She was excellent. I don't have any complaints. The little villas were something that I would really like. It was just too expensive. I think it was like $3,000 a month, and that was a little more than what I wanted to pay. The size of the rooms was nice, and the layout was beautiful. It's private. You had everything that you needed right there."

"My cousin will be moving into Eden Village Retirement Center. Square footage-wise, it was the largest in the price range. My cousin can either buy meals individually or switch to the meal plan. She's starting in independent care. If she reaches a point where she needs assisted living, they will provide it to her in her apartment, so she doesn't have to move into the assisted living section. And then there's also a skilled nursing facility on the same campus. They're remodeling her apartment. It's being repainted, getting new flooring, new light fixtures, and new appliances. They have a variety of programs. They provide transportation for seniors if they need to go anywhere. They have a beauty shop and an exercise room in their facility. They have game rooms and a library. My cousin has a full kitchen that includes a stove, a full-sized refrigerator, and a microwave. It's got a nice courtyard view. There's a fountain, some lovely trees, and walking paths."

"My mom was at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon for rehab. The staff was helpful and caring. They had to quarantine there for a while because of COVID, but they worked out everything. That was really good. She was very comfortable there. She got meals there, she went around the place, and the patio, and she enjoyed it. They have movies and puzzles. She had conversations with the people. I know she found a couple of people to watch the Cardinal baseball game with, so they have a TV lounge and stuff there for them. It worked out pretty well for them. She had physical therapy, and occupational therapy, and they did pretty well."

"Aperion was very nice and clean, and the staff was very helpful. The one thing I liked most about this community was that they have washers and dryers in each of the units, which I didn't see in other communities. They also had several types of units. There were cottage homes which were like little attached bungalows and they also had apartments in one building. They offer a continuum of care so that when a resident needs a higher level of care, they can move them to assisted living or skilled nursing. Should the resident have a short-term need for skilled nursing, they keep hold of their apartments for them. The resident that I spoke with said that the food was really good."
