I visited The McAuley independent living. They have a Life Care plan. It's an older facility, but their apartments are a great size and have lots of good storage space. They had a lot of good programming. St. Joseph College comes in and does some stuff. I didn't get to eat a meal there, but I did get a chance to look at the facilities and what they serve, and also the activity schedule, which was very good. They do outings in the community. The one thing that was negative for me there was that they do not do three meals a day. They do a continental breakfast, and then you have a choice of either lunch or supper. If you're on the first floor, you get a patio.

We moved to The McAuley a year ago and love the independent living here. We continue to live our lives as we did before we came, visiting friends and families, but not we also have the friendship of the other residents. And we are free of the troubles related to home and condo ownership!

My father came to the McAuley last year to stay in the independent living area. I have not seen him this happy in many years. He loves his apartment, the food (choices and quality), and the other residents. The social aspect and the staff are second to none. To bring him to this facility is the best decision I have ever made!!!!
