I am at Rotary Terrace and I absolutely love it. It is affordable housing. It is a brand-new building. I moved in when it opened in January of 2019 and it is absolutely wonderful. Because of Covid, we are not doing anything right now, but when I moved in, I was teaching a needle point course and I had eight ladies as students. They have yoga, Zumba, Friday night dancing, bingo, and lots of activities going on either inside or outside. We also had dinners once a month. There are also painting classes and for Halloween they brought in pumpkins. For the 'section eight people', they have food that comes in once every other week and they have a big delivery of food which includes chicken, rice, flour, sugar, beans, lentils, fruits and vegetables, that is done through Rotary Terrace. They're very good to us. We get free rolls every Thursday. Trader Joe's brings in free food probably once a month. They pay for water, sewer, and garbage. My rent is $1265 for a 1-bedroom apartment and I have a view of the San Bruno mountain, which is beautiful. I am on the top floor, so nobody is above me, and I am on the end, so there's only one person next to me. It is all very quiet and very nice. My room is built in a square with the kitchen, dining area, and living on one side and the bedroom and bathroom on the other side. It is about 550 sq ft, which is very small, but it is big enough for me. I have four closets and one of the closets has built-in racks which I used for extra storage. There are two extra closets with racks. The bathroom is huge because it is handicap accessible. They have handicap accessible apartments here for people who are in walkers, so everything is built lower. They have a special walk-in shower where they can sit down and they're all the same size. There is a large community room where we have activities and meetings. Above the activity room, which is a room with very high ceilings, there is a loft that is used as a library. We also have an enclosed garage. They only provide food for parties because we do our own cooking here.
