I am a very short timer, however, during this short time I have been treated with kindness and consideration. The staff has been quick to be helpful and their helpfulness has always been appropriate. I have been allowed to have a big dog and that has worked out very well. Other residents have, for the most part, been especially friendly. I love my room that just happens to have and office and a balcony (I'm on the 3rd floor). I have no complaints and am looking forward to a good life at RRR.

I thought Holiday Redwood Retirement Residence was expensive for what they offer. I liked the location, but it was out of my price range. The community is pretty spacious and pretty clean. They have patios on the ground floor, and that was a sales point for me, but the room I went to didn't have a balcony. The staff who gave the tour was not that competent.

Holiday Redwood Retirement Residence was lovely, but my sister is no longer qualified for it. The staff is very friendly, and the place is very clean and efficient. Very clean room, and they put in new flooring before each new resident. So it's nice.

I toured Holiday Redwood Retirement Residence and met with the director, Sarah. She assisted us and was extremely helpful and informative. The place is beautiful. It has a lot of amenities. The apartments are gorgeous. The area is very good. The staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and very competent. The grounds are well-kept and manicured. There's a walking trail for the residents, a small garden, and an outdoor seating area. The dining hall has indoor and outdoor options, and it's a restaurant style. They have a whole bunch of activities such as a walking club, game nights, movie nights, and rotating entertainment that comes in at least once or twice a week.

I like Redwood Retirement Residence the best. Right when I went in, the people were so friendly. There were two people who live there and it wasn't planned, they just happened to be there. A woman was there and she said she had lived there for seven years and then there was a man in a wheelchair who was very funny. They showed me around and that was very nice. The place I liked there was on the first floor where the manager had lived and that appealed to me the most. The people were very nice. The manager was very nice. You can get people to come in and help you. I'm still living on my own right now, but I'm at the point where I would like someone to come in every other day to help me get showered and dressed. They had lists that were readily available when I was there. There were several people who were reporting, checking in to do that kind of thing for other people. They'd come there, they did their shopping and all kinds of other stuff. It was independent living, but you could get a lot of care and you're paying them on your own. While I was there, I didn't have a meal, but they brought in and gave me a lovely package of bakery goods that came from their own kitchen. They were some cookies and something else, and they were excellent.

Redwood Retirement Residence had a very nice staff. The place was large, also nice, and a lot of residents were participating in a lot of things when we went there. They were out and about socializing, being busy with the day. Laura was very knowledgeable, very helpful, very patient, and answered any questions we had. It was a pleasure to meet her. The apartments were pleasant, clean, spacious, and very open too.

At Redwood Retirement Residence we met a lady there by the name of Virginia, and she was amazing. And then we dealt with Laura, and Laura was the executor. She was amazing. We had lunch there, and lunch was delicious. We got there and we felt like it was a home environment as opposed to a care facility, and we liked that. We had a turkey and stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, and a nice salad. Then we left, and the lady gave us a box of homemade baked cookies. We were just impressed the whole way. At this point, I give them a four. We'll see how the transportation to medical appointments works, and his ease of getting around. We'll see how the staff treat him and make sure that he's fed, and he's got a place to go. But we're definitely excited. It was something that I thought my dad could hang out in. He's got a really pretty view, so I think that this will be a great, great facility for my father to call home. The food was great. I would rather have a larger refrigerator for my dad to have snacks because the kitchen only serves you three meals a day. That was the difference between that and the other place. The other place had 24/7 food available, but it was quite a bit more expensive. We're going to get him a little refrigerator and see how easy it is for him to get down to the grocery store and have his little stuff. Most of it's going to depend on how well they take care of him, as far as getting him the medical care, that's going to be my big thing. Can he get a ride to a doctor? Is he going to blow every bit of his savings on an Uber because there's no one to take him? Which that kind of defeats the whole purpose. There's some of the amenities I don't know about yet, so I really can't speak on them, and I just want to be very transparent about that. For the amount of money we had for my father, he'd have a couple of bucks in his pocket to be as independent as he'd like to be, and with a little bit of help from us, he would be able to write his own check for rent. He's also right next door to all of the shops like Target if he wants to go get a book or something. It was a little slower pace than the other community we saw, but it was a little less expensive.

I moved into Redwood Retirement Residence. Overall, it's been good. The barbershop and the laundry rooms are close by, and they have a workout room on the second floor, which is good. They have lots of foliage around, and the food has been good. I'm not an activity person necessarily, and I really haven't gone into that so far. On Friday afternoon, you can kind of get together and go to the bar for happy hour. The technician comes and fixes things in your apartment, and that sort of thing. He helped me get my TV going and there was a couple of little things in my apartment that he helped me with. The food service has been, it's a little bit slow, but there's a lot of people here. I particularly enjoy the breakfasts. Biscuits and gravy is one of my favorites, and they do that very well here. There's also bacon and eggs, and the ham has been very good. The hot cereal, both oatmeal and cream of wheat, are very good too. This place has been around for a while. One thing I would say is that the parking lot really needs to be resurfaced. I don't know how many years, but it's been years since it was resurfaced, and it needs to be resurfaced. It's very good here and I find the residents here to be very friendly.

My mom liked the Redwood Retirement Residence, but it's far away; we all live here in Vacaville. The staff was quite good. She gave us a tour of the entire facility. She actually arranged for us to have lunch with a couple of the residents. We had a very nice lunch with two very sweet ladies, and that (more than anything) my mother really appreciated that. We got to know them, and we asked them a lot of questions. It was all pretty positive. Other residents came up and said hi. It was a very, very friendly place; that's for sure. The price was better. The rooms were spacious. Their little kitchenette didn't have a microwave, but they said you could provide your own. The salon was closed. During the COVID thing, they lost the person that was running that. They had activities. They also kept in touch with us and invited us to come back for the activities. There were different things like bingo night and things like that. They also offered a lot of incentives to make a move. There were financial incentives. The facility was nice and airy feeling.

Redwood Retirement Residence was very nice. However, it wasn't as open and it just seemed more along the convalescent side just down some of the halls. Their dining room was great. The people were friendly. The food was amazing. The person there, Laura, was fabulous. It was very close, but they just didn't have a room that we felt was suitable for Mom. The rooms were just a little small. We met a couple of the staff members, and they were very nice.

My father is moving into Redwood Retirement Residence tomorrow. It was a pleasing environment when I walked in, so I like that. It seemed like a good community for him. The staff was very pleasant, they did a good tour of the place, and it just didn't smell. That was good. It had a patio in the apartment, so that was good too. They have some exercise equipment, a library, a movie room, an area for playing bingo, and a washer and dryer. They had a very nice dining room. It's like a restaurant where you sit down and they bring you food. It's apartment living and they are self-sufficient, but they have three meals a day, housekeeping once a week, and laundry service.

Redwood Retirement Residence was fine. They were very accommodating. I had a meal there, and the food that I had that day was good. I met a couple of the residents that seemed very happy there. I liked that they had almost a full kitchen, a full stove with an oven, and a full size refrigerator. The only thing that I didn't like about it was the carpeting. I have two dogs and I wanted hardwood floors, which I'm sure when the time came, if I talk to them about that, if they were remodeling their apartment, they might be accommodating. I learned that they were also offering specials. I think their normal move-in one-time fee or community fee was like $2,400, and they offered move-in specials for $499, and then I think they're offering $500 a month off for the first three months. They weren't having activities because of COVID, and they have very strict check-ins with COVID. They haven't had any incidents the entire time, and they're practicing social distancing. They had a very nice landscape. The facility was immaculate.

The staff at Redwood Retirement Residence was very nice, and they still call me with no pressure. They had art, little baseball toss, and they had a library and plenty of books upstairs.

My brother moved to Redwood Retirement Residence and so far everything is going well. The staff is very caring, compassionate, understanding and kind. They have different apartments depending on what kind you get. Their amenities are great, there are 3 bicycles on the 2nd floor that he utilizes, they have movie nights, and ice cream socials. They also have entertainment in the lobby on certain nights, so they will have people come in to play, perform, or dance. The surrounding area is great, Target and Whole Foods are down the street, Walgreens is there, everything is close by. I like the setup of the place itself. It's open, and the lobby goes up so you could see the 3rd and 2nd floors from the lobby. They have a lot of different activities, and sometimes they have a special activity where they'll go out to dinner or lunch somewhere. They have games, crafts, someone will come in and do exercise with the residents on the second floor if they want to join on that, they have bingo and puzzles. They also have a religious chapel on Sundays at 2:00. I'm very pleased.

Redwood Retirement Residence was lovely, but my friend does not feel ready for that level of habitation. Everything was great. The facility was nice and clean. The chef was wonderful. The staff members were great, friendly, and went out of their way to meet us. It was all good. There was a washer and dryer, an elevator, they had activities, socials, meals, a movie night, and happy hours.

Redwood Retirement Residence was nice. I liked the facility and the dining area, and everybody seemed nice, but it's strictly independent living with no option for assisted living. The rooms and the staff seemed adequate. They had lots of bingo, get-togethers, movies, and games.

Redwood Retirement Residence was attractive on the hillside but not convenient unless you have transportation. It was not within walking or biking distance to any shopping. The staff was very nice. He did a good follow-through because he took a photograph of me and the person who accompanied me. He sent the photographs to both of us and also made follow-up calls. He was quite accurate and well-equipped. The activities that they offered were average. They're similar to other places but nothing remarkable. However, the price was out of my range. It was the most expensive of the three or four places I visited. The location and the price were the two major negatives for me.

I moved into Redwood Retirement with some of my furniture. My ex-husband lived here until he passed away. It’s more than what I really need. The staff is confident as far as I can tell, very helpful, and try to do the best they can. I have a one-bedroom apartment, a bathroom, a little kitchenette, and a living room. It has a little outside porch where I get some fresh air. The dining area is adequate, and the food is good. The service is sometimes terrible, but it’s because they are so understaffed. Sometimes two girls take care of the whole crowd, and that is very unfair to them.

Redwood was very good. We had a good time there. The people there -- not just the employees but also the people who live there -- were very engaging. We did have a meal there, and it was excellent. They had an activity going on where they threw beanbags, and they really got engaged there. I think this place was a very average price. It felt very nice there. The property felt like you were at a resort. The rooms were very good. They were colorful and furnished nicely. They were handicapped friendly too.

My mom is in Redwood Retirement Residence. The staff is very nice, and the place looks clean. They have activities, housekeeping, and some of the other things that she needs. She has a two-bedroom unit with a living room, a bedroom, a little kitchenette, and a bathroom. She goes to a movie night the other night, and she enjoys it. They have movie nights quite often there. The food is fine. They have a hair salon there that she is going to use today.

Redwood Retirement Residences was upgrading things. It was in a nice neighborhood. It was pretty clean and in a middle class kind of neighborhood. We had a meal there, and the food was 3 out of 5. There were some options for activities. One thing they needed to do was improve their exterior. Their garden area just seemed like a big parking lot.

I wouldn’t consider Redwood Retirement. It is poorly maintained, the apartments were very shabby, and the food was terrible. It was almost as expensive to the facility I am in right now and didn’t have any of the amenities at all. They must have building and ground maintenance; it was dirty, and it was not well-cared for at all. The people that I met were very pleasant; it's just the place that I didn’t want to be.

Redwood Retirement is nicely located. They can walk across the street to a very nice market. After the earthquake, it has huge cracks on the wall. My friend who used to stay there said that she had bed bugs in her room. They paid for an exterminator, and that doesn't strike me as clean. She was happy before she found out about the beg bugs. She didn't care for the food that much. She also said that people don't like the activities. It was more comfortable for her to sit in her room reading and have her friends visit. I know all of the staff, and I think they are very friendly.

My mother is at Redwood. It is excellent. My mother has been there for three years, and it is a very good place. She is really content there. It is secure. The people are nice. I like it. I haven't tried eating there, but I think the food is fine according to my mom. The activities are good. They have a really wonderful social director. She isn't there all the time. My mother would like it if she was there everyday, but when she is there, things are really good. Security and safety seems good.

We settled on Redwood Retirement Residence, and it’s working out well. My mom has been there sinceJuly, the community is very friendly, and it’s in a wonderful location in downtown Napa. It’s actually pretty convenient. The rooms are a little bit small if you have a studio, so it’s not like you expect a lot. When somebody is in a studio, you’d expect them to have a big closet, so I would say the closet is the problem. The bathroom is large, and because of the earthquake they are doing a whole remodel. She is happy there. The community really bonded together; it was great. They bonded together and help each other through it, and they kept cooking the whole time and feeding everybody. My mom said they had a wonderful beef stew that night for dinner, and she was impressed that they were able to pull it all off. The staff is super nice; my mom actually has had some health issues, and they help me like checking the room making sure she is OK. They have been super helpful and supportive, and they are going to keep an eye on my mom. We also liked it here because this company owns 300 other residences, and she can travel to any of them for free and eat there for free which is kind of a nice little perk if you are on the younger end. They go on trips to wineries and places to San Francisco and stuff like that.

The people who are living at Redwood Retirement are very friendly, which is a nice thing. The staff has been very nice to keep in touch. I had a couple of meals there, and that was very well-prepared. The accommodations were nice too. They completely redo the rooms when someone new comes in, which is certainly a good thing. I was able to read the list of activities, and they seemed to have good activities.

Following visits to 5 Independent and Assisted Care facilities, my mother ended up selecting the Redwood Retirement Community in Napa, CA. She is making the transition from a sister community in Auburn, CA, The Oaks of Auburn, which is identical in every way to her new home. The managers and sales representatives are helpful and delighted to help my mom make a positive transition to live in our home community.

The food at Redwood Retirement for most of the last year has been atrocious. Meals were not prepared well and fresh ingredients were not always used. A new chef has been hired recently and food service has improved significantly. There are plenty of activities hosted by the staff, including Bingo and exercise. The activities director, in my opinion, does a very good job keeping residents active and entertained. They have a hairdresser and manicurist/pedicurist on staff. New managers have been hired no less than 3 times over the last year. Why they have left or been let go is a mystery to me. The building and landscaping are quite attractive. There is a very nice shaded walking path around the building and a sitting area in front adjacent to a large fountain. My grandmother pays close over $2500 per month, which is more than double what a medium-high quality apartment in town would cost. She has also commented on the poor health of many residents, complaining that Redwood Retirement seems to be becoming more of an assisted-living facility than a retirement community for autonomous individuals. As such she intends to move out shortly.
