"What I liked best about Highland House is it was close to where my mother currently lives, so she could still maintain in touch with the people in her community. The people there were very kind, helpful, and supportive while we were there. They offer amenities that would suit her. They showed me a small bedroom-type room with a bathroom that was set up for elderly care with the handles and easy accommodations as far as getting in and out. They had a van that would take residents' places. They had a common room where they could play games and sing and do things. There was a hair salon in the facility as well. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and very open to sharing with us what they had. My mother's biggest concern is moving away from her home and her home community, and this would allow her to be as close as she could be to that area and it's still fairly rural, which she likes. I was impressed that they were able to offer the different amenities that they had. It was nice, but it was small. I've seen nicer facilities in bigger areas where there were more people. This is a very small town, so it's not as luxurious as the other places I've seen."

"Seasons Place is where my brother was. The best thing about it was the staff. They were incredibly kind and friendly. They took very good care of my brother and were very quick to be in touch with me if there was a problem. The staff was welcoming and they showed a lot of patience with my brother who can be difficult. I had lunch there. Considering they're cooking for so many people, it was very good. They offered game time. They had facilities for him to go to. They had a physical therapy room there. They did field trips out for those who were able. They had a nice garden, and in nice weather people could go out and work and plant things and enjoy the garden. They had a lot of activities. It was a very nice place."

"My experience with Lewisburg Manor has been both good and bad. My mother has lived in this building for over ten years now and seems to be quite happy. The building is in very good condition and well maintained. It has secured entrances, and I feel the residents there feel very secure. I do not like the management and some of the workers there. They are very rude and treat the residents like they are children. Recently there has been a lot of drug problems there do to some residents selling their medication to outside parties, but they recently moved a police officer in and the problem has almost been taken care of. Overall, I would recommend Lewisburg Manor in Lewisburg, West Virginia, to any person in need of an assisted living facility. "

"They had a large staff, and they all seemed nice and friendly. The facility offered several different stages of assisted living, with the option to purchase a house on the campus and move inside the facility to receive more help if necessary. The rooms inside the facility were very nice and came with a fully equipped kitchen and housekeeping but were a little small and pricey. The houses were also very nice, but again a bit expensive when you add in the monthly fees. The dining was excellent, with great food and the option to eat in their restaurant style dining area, pick up food to go, or even have food delivered to your door. They also offered numerous events such as bible studies, classes, and birthday parties for their residents. They also had a large amount of services such as fitness programs, physical therapy, and shuttles for the residents. "

"The facility is very clean, and the staff is extremely friendly and compassionate. Some of the care providers still remember my grandmother when they see her in town. The atmosphere was positive, and she seemed very happy there. Even my children were comfortable visiting her, which they have not been at times in other assisted living facilities. Of course, Carrington Place has the same negatives that are unavoidable - somewhat "sterile" seeming (always smells like commercial cleaning products!) and it can be upsetting to see people who seem lonely or depressed and/or are in pain, but overall, it was far less gloomy than many such homes I have visited. We hope that she will not require permanent assisted living due to severe health problems, but if that were to happen, Carrington Place (or one of their affiliated facilities that would be more suitable to her needs) is one of very few that we would consider. "
