"My dad is in a fabulous place right now called Primrose. He has a lovely three-bedroom apartment, and he has a lot of space there. He can cook his own dinner at night. He has a full kitchen and a nice bathroom. They have a library and a pub where people can go down and have happy hour. They serve them, and that's the other thing I didn't like about the other place. He had to walk through and get a plate to go and sit down at the table. Well, if you can't walk and you're on a walker, then you're going to put your food on the seat on the walker and that's just insane, making somebody walk through. My dad is 94 years old, and he is not going to be able to carry much. However, the place he is in right now is wonderful, and the staff is great. They check on him everyday. He has a monitoring device, and if something happens, he can call the front desk or hit a button, and they will hear it at the front desk. It is totally independent living. He runs in and out at whim. He has a car and a garage. It is a fabulous place. "

"My aunt has lived at Mother Joseph for over 15 years. She had moved in after her first heart attack. The facility has always seemed nice. Over the years I got to know many of the nurses and consider some of them friends. The facility is clean and active. Most of the residents are capable of reasonable levels of mobility, which means the hallways and doorways aren't usually cluttered with people trying to move. While there are a good number of daily scheduled activities, most of these are optional and that leaves the residents a lot of freedom to pursue personal interests. My aunt painted and drew so her room was canvased with pictures and painting on the walls. My aunt's favorite thing was what she called "Christ-like service". She had often told us that some not all of the nurses were very faithful and very devoted to helping the residents, not just being there as a job. She never reported any problems beyond day-to day concerns with residents which happens with elderly women who gossip. "
