"My mom is staying at The Landing at Queensbury. She's in the assisted living section. They are providing her with everything. The med techs are all very professional and very accommodating. They're all very nice. They all love my mom. It's clean. They have a lot of programs for the residents. It's a nice facility. When we were looking at different places we went to The Landing at Queensbury for lunch and had their food, which was very good."

"I toured The Terrace At The Glen. First of all, the facility is gorgeous. They have everything that you can think of. The other thing that I liked is the fact that they do have a continuum of care. Pam was extremely informative. She followed up without being intrusive."

"The tour of the Home of the Good Shepherd was very good. We did a walk-through. We spoke to Sandra, the administrator, and I'd recommend that place. It was very, very clean. There seemed to be enough people around to help. The place was beautiful, and that was a really good place. The room looked spacious, and you could get either a private or shared room. They were nice rooms, and you could bring your own furniture. They had a beauty parlor there and they had the usual activities for assisted living. They have a chapel, and they have a nice dining area. It's upstairs and downstairs and both areas have a place where you could go outside. They have rocking chairs there, and you could sit. It's just like a terrace upstairs, and then downstairs it's like the porch. Very nice. It was laid out very nicely and very easy to maneuver. I have not tried a meal during the walk-through, but I did see people eating at that point. The food looked very good, very appealing. And they had little stations where you could get water, they had cucumber water and another type of water. It was nice."

" My little dog,Pete and I have been going up to the Countryside Adult Home now for a couple of month's.I knew no-one there on the first trip, but thought the Resident's would enjoy seeing Pete, since he is small and very friendly.I was right, they ALL loved him and now they love me too!We try to go up about 3 time's a week as time allow's.It is a very nice place for these people, and most call it "Their Home".The staff are all very careing and do a great job.It is unfortunate that a possible shutdown or relocating of these people may become a reality,as these folk's who live there are a great bunch of people and have had enough shuffling around in their lives already. "Rooms are very clean, and staff was very friendly. The case worker is the best. She bent herself into a pretzel to try and do everything she could to make sure you are comfortable."

"Home Of The Good Shepherd Wilton is excellent and well lit. The elevators are fine. Their rooms are spacious and very clean. The ample staff members are very attentive, very qualified, very courteous, and very efficient. They don't have a movie theater, but they do show movies on a big-screen TV. They have an entertainment room, a small kitchenette, and a chapel. The dining area is very bright and airy. There are large windows on one side. It's not crowded, and it's very comfortable for people in wheelchairs or walkers. We had excellent meals there. They also have a pretty, little private dining room if a family wants to have a special occasion. They have flowers on the tables and nice dishes and silverwares."

"The Woodlawn Commons had 100 apartments; 60 were independent and 40 were assisted living, all within the same building. The facility is very beautiful and well-maintained. They have a ton of activities. They also had food there that you could choose to eat. They have a hairdresser, different massages, physical therapy, exercises, and little clubs that play bridge, cards, and things like that. The staff members were very friendly and knowledgeable. The price is a little bit more than my parents could afford."

"My mom is at The Wesley Community. Everybody is very, very friendly. Communication is outstanding. The hallways are large. The rooms are large. It's very bright and cheerful. It's a wonderful experience. The food is very good. There's a variety of different sandwiches as options. There's everything from chili to fish. Right now, my mom is on the rehab floor. They have a beauty parlor where they can get their hair done. They have social activities. They have had a Christmas party and Christmas caroling. They offer music. In comparison to where she had been before, it's night and day."

"I toured Saratoga Memory Care Residence . It was just very bright. The people there had walkers, and there were wheelchairs, but a lot of people were walking around. A lot of it seemed less depressing. It just seemed brighter and more people that were more alert and doing more things than the other place I went to. The woman who gave us the tour was excellent. And then I observed other workers there, and they interacted very well, a lot of them knowing everybody's name. They have a staff member in every hallway. It's a circular type facility, you start at one place and then you walk, and then you come back to where you started. And in each hallway, there is someone there. I like the security on the doors. They have a wonderful outdoor area, where they can walk on their own. It was secure. There was what looked like a very nice hair salon place. It just was more modern. If you're offered a choice of two meals, it was set up almost to look like a restaurant, which I liked. They have other rooms for activities. So I like that it was a separate dining room and it looked like a little restaurant. In the courtyard, they have raised beds and they do their own vegetables and incorporate them into their dinners and so forth, another thing that I thought was very good."

"Holbrook's Adult Home, Inc. was a very nice place, they had a nice dining area, and Debbie, the person who was in charge, was very nice. She showed us the rooms. They do have a porch where people can sit outside, they have rocking chairs out there. They had like a solarium where you could sit in there and read books, with big windows, and sunshine. That was nice. They had a nice dining room. They did have two cats that lived there, which kind of made it homey, and it was decorated very nicely. The rooms were nice, you could bring your own furniture, and they were spacious. The place was very clean. They were sitting down to eat when we were there. So people were coming in, sitting down at the table and everybody there seemed happy. I did see some people doing puzzles in another section of the place, and they seemed happy."

"I've just had my mother in Home of the Good Shepherd about two months now. I like the atmosphere of this place. The people are very friendly. The staff there is really nice too. They're very attentive and very nice to everybody. They're very good actually. The nurses are able to take care of my mom 24/7. I haven't heard any complaints about them. They have plenty of activities all day long. They do bingo, different arts, etc. My mom doesn't do any of that stuff but she plays the piano for them. They have a grand piano in their dining area. My mom has an apartment. It doesn't have a kitchen area and it's a little small but for what she needs, it's okay. The price is good. Everything is included and that's a big factor for us. Overall, my mom is doing okay in this facility. "

"My uncle is at The Mansion at South Union. It is a nice place. It's just a little outdated. The staff seems OK. The living conditions are fairly decent. They have a very nice common area and a very nice dining room. It is very interactive and very group-oriented. Medicaid is accepted there. It's pretty clean from what I've seen. It needs some renovations, but it is livable. There are a few little odds and ends that need fixing. Like, for instance, when we went there to visit the first time before he had been admitted, he walked down and grabbed the railing, and the railing fell off. The staff has been very cooperative and very understanding. I have a vague idea of what their menu is, but that changes weekly. If you don't like that meal, they are very accommodating. They'll give you a sandwich, hamburger, hot dog, or one other option. I like the building a lot."
