"I went to Cedar Ridge Health Campus. Their assisted living will not do your insurance; you have to pay for it. It was a bit more expensive than some of the others, but they offered a little bit more. They were all private rooms, and each room had its own little kitchenette. There wasn't any stove, but it had a microwave, a small refrigerator, a television, and you could bring your own furniture in. It's a brand new building, so it was very nice. They had group eating, and they offered services where they would supervise your meds if needed, and you could have a car there and you'd be allowed to sign out if you wanted to go out. They gave me a loaf of bread that they made there, and it was delicious. The residents were eating when I was being shown around, and they seemed very friendly and they all had smiles on their faces. Everybody knew everybody."

"The Willows at Citation was very nice and clean. The staff member who assisted us was very helpful, very nice, and very informative. The dining area was very nice and clean too. There was a church service in the lobby, and they were singing. We also saw the physical therapy room."

"My mom is at Rose Mary C. Brooks Place. What I like about this place is that my mom can be as independent as she wants. She can have a separate cottage, so she has her own place to be, and she can call for more assistance if she needs it. It's close to shopping areas for her. I love the place. "

"I put my mother in a care facility called Hometown Manor. It’s a small community. It’s clean, neat, and laid out well. The staff is attentive and helpful. "

"I thought that the staff at Windsor Gardens was very warm and caring. It was darker though. I had the feeling of being in a basement, even though I wasn't. It's an older building. The residents were more in their rooms than engaged in activities, but it could've just been the time of day I was there. The thing that made me hesitant about there was the shower had a six-inch step-in, and my dad is not able to do that. He needs a flush shower. It's not like a bathtub, but there was like a six-inch lip on the showers. You have to be able to pick your feet up to get into the showers in the memory unit. I don't know what the rest of it is. It was a little quiet. All the residents were in their rooms. Nobody was doing any activities. It was a little dark, and there were not a lot of windows to look out of, but they had access to an outside area, and they could go if they want. There's not as many windows, but the rooms were nice, and the staff was lovely. The people that I talked to were very caring. I just like seeing a lot of sunshine, and I thought it was kind of dark. If my dad had to go there, I would be comfortable with his care, but I think he would prefer something more sunny and bright."

"Boonesboro Trail Senior Living was an awesome place. It would be a great place to live. There were a lot of seniors that live there becaise they had downsized and got rid of their home. it was not because they needed help or anything. They made that their home. It was beautiful and new. It is only two years old, so everything was great. The guy that I spoke with was honest with me about how much care they would give. I even met a housekeeper. They were awesome. The janitor was the one who greeted me at the door and found the person I was supposed to meet. He was awesome. They have craft periods. They put out a newsletter that keeps people in the know for what they have going on. They even have parades and stuff. It sounds like they can keep people busy, if people are interested. They have a library. There was a lady sitting in there that comes down every day, sits, and reads in the library. She likes to get the sun and read out there where people stop by and talk to her. They do laundry once a week, change your bedding, and stuff. It all comes with the price. If you need extra, you can pay extra. I did not try the food but they gave me oatmeal raisin cookies. I brought them home, and they were awesome."

"My aunt moved into the Meadowthorpe Assisted Living & Memory Care. It's wonderful. It's very small and quaint, and they provide a lot of personal attention. It's very nice, it's very well kept, maintenance is well done, and there's no problem. With the COVID, it's kind of hard, but they do have plenty of things to do, and the activities director is very, very wonderful. The value is very good, and they're very willing to work with you. It's probably the best secret in Lexington."

"My mother has been a resident at Lexington Country Place for two years now. Because of her dementia, it was no longer safe for her to live alone. I did a lot of research before placing her at Lexington Country Place. I wanted specialized care for her medical conditions, and a friend of the family recommended Lexington Country Place to us. I was happy with their long standing place in the community and how long they have been providing care. They have great administrators that help get the process started, and who are very knowledgeable and were able to answer all of my questions. When I initially took a tour and saw the nursing staff in action I knew that my mother would be well taken care of, and I knew that the staff were well educated and would be able to give her the care she needed. I visit my mother very frequently, and whether she is having a good day or bad day in regards to her dementia, the staff is always patient and kind to her. I am very happy with our decision to use Lexington Country Place. "

"The staff members at Sterling Meadows are each so kind and competent. I couldn’t ask for a better assisted living for my mother. She enjoys daily Tai Chi, chair exercises, devotions and art 3 times a week Mon-Fri. My mom also loves her gardening time twice a week. She said, “Come and join us!”"

"Our tour of Cedarhurst of Beaumont was excellent and well coordinated. There's a small sink in the room, but no hard cooking surfaces. The dining area looked like just a regular nice dining room. They did very well during the tour. The staff was friendly on the initial. I was very pleased with the facility. We went to a carhop, stayed in the parking lot, and they brought the food out to us and it was very good."

" I was here for respid care for PT and while my townhouse was putting in the necessary changes after an injury. All of the staff were fantastic, great facilities, awesome amenities (with the beauty salon which is great) and wonderful PT. I was definitely not the typical resident (at 28yo) and I was treated wonderfully by all staff and residents. My aunt ran nursing homes/assisted living and we visited quite often so I have been in and around nursing home facilities for most of my life and this is definitely one of the best. "
