"We chose Canterfield of Tallahassee for my uncle because it is a very nice community and it was just built in 2019. The staff has been wonderful so far. I just looked at the menu, and it's much better than what the other places are serving. It's a really nice facility. It's beautiful inside. They had a team of ladies who were cleaning when we went in. Every different part of the facility has a different day when they clean. It's immaculate in there."

"My husband is in Sodalis Tallahassee Assisted Living. The care is good. The people are nice. The only problem is that they give a very small portion of food to the clients and they are always hungry. The food is horrible. They give them hotdog sandwiches and half a hamburger. They have to improve that because this is a big company and they charge a lot of money. I think that the people over there are supposed to have a nutritionist and give nutritious food to these people. Sometimes they give them a salad with pieces of chicken that they take directly from the freezer. They sometimes give them a cheese sandwich for lunch and that cold salad with cold pieces of chicken without cooking it in the afternoon. The care is getting better now. The staff is more alert because I complained to the director, and they hired more staff. They have some activities, but I haven't seen much. They are now doing a very good job taking care of them. Before, I saw no empathy for the well-being of the patient. The director had a big meeting with the staff and they are now working the way that they are supposed to work. They give the medicines on time. They are more concerned about the patients now. They are going to fix the place. They told me they are planning to change everything."

"My mom was the first resident of Memory Care at The Grove. Since the day she moved in, we couldn’t be more pleased with her care. Sameka, the Memory Care Director, is caring and compassionate with many years experience in the unique needs of these sweet souls. The nurses and caregiving staff are held to high standards, which are evident in the superior care the residents receive. The residents stay busy with fun activities every day, thanks to the wonderful engagement staff. The food is top-notch and served restaurant style with new menus daily. "Heritage Oaks was very nice. We visited a friend who lives there and she’s very happy. It’s got a good reputation and it’s clean. It’s a very spacious and it’s a well lit place. The building is about twenty-five years old but it’s OK. It’s not run down -- they keep it up and it looks nice. The parking space is adequate. The place is in a residential neighborhood and it’s got a real good church right across the street. It’s also about a mile away from a great big mall, Wal-Mart. "

"My mom has moved into Villas at Killearn Lakes. This one was highly recommended by friends of mine. It has small villas with only 12 residents in it, and I like the much smaller environment for her. They have an entryway, a large bedroom, and a large handicapped-accessible bathroom. They open onto the main area of the villa where the dining and living is. The food is excellent. It's all homemade right in front of them. The staff are all very attentive to the elders. They're very efficient and hardworking. I am impressed that not a single one of them walks around with a cell phone. There are a lot of musical activities, arts and crafts, and pet therapy services."

"My great aunt (age 95) resides in the health center area of Westminster Oaks. Although confined to a wheelchair (she has had several strokes) her mind is still sharp and she remains as active as her wheelchair will allow. She still takes herself to the dining room for her meals each day, and although she resides in the health center area, each time I have visited I have been impressed by the homey, neighborhood feel of that area. Even though it is a medical facility designed to provide long-term care, the hallways are designed to look like neighborhood streets and entrances to the patient rooms look like the front doors of home. The nursing staff are friendly and caring, and my great aunt is able to keep several pieces of her own furniture in her room for a more homey feel. Although her room is only semi-private, there is a partial wall that divides her space from her roommates and she is quite comfortable with the level of privacy. She also enjoys the well-manicured and beautifully-landscaped grounds at Westminster Oaks and has a fantastic view from the large window in her room. There are also plenty of activities and classes for the residents designed to keep their minds and bodies active and healthy. My aunt jokes that she doesn't like playing bingo, but she has plenty of other choices when it comes to how she spends her free time. All in all, I feel wonderful knowing my elderly relative is receiving excellent care from the compassionate and well-trained medical staff at Westminster Oaks. "

"We're impressed with Willow Ridge. It's a small-sized facility. They've got medically trained staff and nice rooms. There were trees around there, lots of windows to look outside, and it's a very peaceful location. The director was very friendly, answered all of our questions, available, and was easily reached at any time. A lot of the activities are just now kind of building back up after being shut down for Covid. They didn't have a lot going, but I know there was a group coming in to do Christmas caroling this past week."

"Magnolia Place of Cairo is very caring. The rooms is good. They have bingo, devotion, and exercise daily. They have a library and go out every other week to eat. Meals are provided in a very nice dining area. The food is good."

"The staff are caring and loving. The facility is well kept with the common areas always decorated with seasonal themes. It is such a wonderful feeling for family to be always welcomed and included with all aspects of care and living. My Daddy is happy to be there and we feel good that he is well loved there too. "
