"I went to Cedargate Healthcare. It's an older facility. It's a very small facility. There aren't that many rooms, and they did not have a single room for my mother. If I still lived in Poplar Bluff, I would have moved my mother there because it seems so well suited to my mother. It was like the country. It was quiet, restful, and peaceful. It sounds like it's in town, but it's not. It's like, all of a sudden, you're in the middle of nowhere. It's awesome. The grounds make you feel as though you're in the woods. The girl that gave me the tour happened to be a former student of mine, which made it awesome. They only had one dining area and it looked like somebody's home. It's a homey feeling. The common room was like somebody's living room, with no big tables or anything, just sofas and chairs, high enough to get in and out of, and just a comfortable, homey look. It was an hour and a half drive to get back home. So, that's why I did not choose Cedargate. They have shared rooms and they're rather old-fashioned, a little bit smaller than what one would normally like, I could probably have gotten a double room with just one person in it. I paid a little bit more, and the cost was way below what one would expect. It's very inexpensive, half of what I'm paying right now. They're really low on RNs and LPNs, but they're extremely caring. The staff-to-patient ratio almost seemed one-to-one."

"My aunt is at Magnolia Manor and I visit her sometimes. It is very pleasant. Everyone seems like they like being there. I see a lot of their posts on Facebook with activities and things that they have. We would have placed my mom there but her primary physician and three other specialists are in Blytheville. I did not tour the whole facility. I was only able to see the common area where a lot of people like to hang out and socialize, I went through there and then I went down the hall to my aunt's room and saw her room, which was nice. They were allowed to take their own furniture and fix it up the way they would want to. It was all nice. I don't think she has a kitchenette in the room. The staff are very friendly and seems to be very helpful. They were very patient with the patients. They've had in the past have little birthday parties and a little barbecue and different things for different holidays and it always seem like everybody is enjoying the food."

"Corning Therapy the staff is beyond helpful and set the standard for caring and being warm. The staff is well trained and educated with extraordinary customer service. The facility is well maintained and the grounds are beautiful. The common areas are clean and well maintained. The rooms are good size and can accommodate touches from home to make their space cozy. The residents are clean and well cared for. They are bright and alert and are not isolated or left alone for long periods of time. Staff is attentive and makes sure all residents are part of activities and events. Those resident who cannot attend due to being bed ridden they are engaged on a regular basis to keep them from slipping into isolation and loneliness. The menu is well planned and the food is tasty. They offer many choices for variety and there are Vegetarian Options also. The residents I spoke to say the staff is lovely and they are compassionate. The residents stated they feel safe and secure. What more can you ask for from a facility you have to place a loved one. I would call them for a tour if you’re looking to place a loved one. The make helping Hands says it all. "
