My mother has been reluctant to have help in the home because she has been afraid of losing her independence. A good friend referred Carla to me and she was indeed a blessing. My mother has neuropathy and she helped her with an exercise regime and more importantly left her with the mantra "keep moving" so that she can have mobility longer. We knew we would not have Carla long because of she was moving to NVA, but she developed a trusting relationship and my mother is now open to having someone in her home and also has a better sense of the type of help that is available. Carla has also followed up with my mother by phone.

Carla has been with my mother for several months to help support me with In Home caregiving. She has always been prompt. Having Carla come into my home and provide me with relief two days a week has been a blessing. Carla massaged mom before getting her into the shower. Dressed and completed exercises with my mother. Spoke to her gently and frequently. To assist me, she also changed and washed mom’s sheets weekly. Folded clothes, mopped floor and made the best egg salad. I really miss the egg salad now that Carla has relocated.
