There have been times when they call me to say someone is not going to make it and then they do not have any replacements. That is a hard situation to be in because then I have to cancel my appointments.

They only cared about raking in the money and paying their caregivers only $10. That is pathetic. The caregivers were pretty good most of the time. It seems like their priorities aren't really in taking care of people. We had a problem with a caregiver and they didn't call us to say sorry for what happened. It was completely swept under the rug. The business model is pathetic. They try to get the cheapest help for their company. And you get what you pay for. Eventually I spoke to the owner about it.

I pretty much did their job for them, and all they needed to do was show up and give the medications that I had laid out. When I talked to the manager, she was excellent, but her hands are tied on this. They could be on time when distributing medication. It is not appropriate to bring children and they should look professional when they are showing up. One time, no one ever showed up and another time, someone came in late with her daughter and curlers in her hair.

One caregiver went to the hospital with me and stayed there until I had my surgery and then brought me home. She stayed with me all day in the surgery room and then took me home. They take good care of me. I have two people that do everything they are supposed to. The one I have at night is very cordial. The only bad experience I have had was with the one that came in the morning. She just sat down in the rocking chair and watched TV the whole time.

This is a great company. The girls that we had were absolutely amazing. They taught me a lot on how I can help take care of my dad and they would always go the extra mile. When the service ran out and we had to say goodbye to these girls, I think we actually cried. They would come in and help my father bathe and dress and they would even ask to do things we didn't need them to do. When the services ran out, my father sent them both thank you cards because he loved them so much.

I would tell others that the BrightStar Care owners care, but when dealing with the aides, I've only had one good out of four so far. The caregivers are supposed to come in, help June get up and give her a shower. They are also supposed to get her breakfast, clean her room and bathroom. They should keep her entertained, but some of the caregivers don't do all of this.
