My Story I saw my father struck with stroke. It was devastating to say the least. While in the hospital I thought to myself, this was a man that could get up, walk, take a shower and feed himself his daily meals. Seeing him helpless was devastating and unreal to me. He would need to be turned and repositioned, activities of daily done for him and medications given through his gastrostomy tube. As a registered nurse, everything going through my mind was how would I care for my father, go to work and still carry on with my other family responsibilities. So, I have been there.
