Excellent, reliable and helpful caregivers!

I taught in the College of Marine for 40 years and one of my dearest friend and colleague needed Home Care Assistance for some time as his health deteriorated. I got to know one of the caregivers who took care of Jerry. I was really so impressed with the care that Jerry had been receiving so I decided to look into Home Care Assistance. It turned out well and it’s been about 3 years now. The principal caregiver is a young woman by the name of Michelle. She comes four days a week and I have another caregiver who comes one day a week on Thursday. They provide house cleaning, help me with showering (I don't get around very well because I have MS and it worsened considerably over the years) do laundry and mop up when necessary. They just do all sorts of things around the house that I simply can't do. I've had three caregivers. The first one was a young woman by the name of Lourdes M. She provided superb care while at the same time raising two daughters. It was a wonderful, wonderful experience. She did so many things and did it all with a kind of gracefulness and upbeat attitude that really, really impressed me. I do believe she isn't with Home Care Assistance anymore. But she is with me for probably about a year or so. The second person I had was Maria C. She was with me for only a few months but she was also excellent. The caregiver that I have now for many, many months is Michelle E. She's really an incredibly conscientious person and a hard worker. She's been a gift. I can't tell you how fortunate I am to have someone like that. I've also spoken occasionally with Peter H. and though I've never met him personally he sounds like a wonderful, wonderful person. He’s a caring person who basically retains wonderful people to give care.

I got Home Care Assistance for my wife. It was recommended by a friend. The caregiver is excellent. She takes very good care of my wife, she takes care of the house, and she does a wonderful job. The caregiver, Mary Ann, helps her walk, and takes her to the store, the doctor, or wherever she needs to go. She's good at listening, and makes sure she doesn't fall. If anybody is looking for a caregiver for their loved one, I recommend them highly, they're very warm, knowledgeable, and they're just a really good company.

Home Care Assistance is there when my husband needs a shower. They are in the room (he can handle it by himself but he needs somebody there) and while he is having his shower it gives them a chance to make his bed, clean the room and set the laundry out. We have them every day except Sundays. The caregivers are very good. They're here and everything we need doing, they do. They have initiative, say there would be a better way of doing or they can help you some more. This is the first company we have and I will recommend them. They have suggestions that really help us and I'm very happy with them.

We just did some internet searching, check reviews then we had four different companies come out. We liked the way Home Care Assistance of Sonoma County did business. The representative seemed very knowledgeable. They help my mother with dressing, bathing, toileting and feeding. The caregivers have good attitude, are very caring and show respect to my mom. They also look out for her and try to help in all that they can do. I would recommend them. At first in the early couple of months we were having a variety of different caregivers. I think they were trying to work out the schedule to try to match up their caregivers with my mom. But now it’s very stable and we've had the same caregivers consistently.

Home Care Assistance of Sonoma County provided quality care. They listened to our feedback and showed up to work when they were supposed to. They also made adjustments to the schedule when we asked them to. They provided personal care, housekeeping, meal prep and clean up. There were many caregivers and each of them did a very good job. I would recommend them. Overall, the experience was very good.
