Cherish Care Cambria, CA

We're using Cherish Care in Cambria, and they're coming into the home. We are using them three days a week for four hours. They come in and follow my requests for the day, which include activities in the home, walking in the neighborhood or the natural lands around here, library, barber shop as needed, and coffee out, bathing once a week, and they fix lunch before they leave. My goal is to get him out of the house and get me four hours of free time. The support personnel that I've had have been very good. When they cross the threshold, I'm not here. They read the notes, they engage, and they come up with their own activities. Yesterday was Saturday, and there were some quizzes and fun games. For the most part, they are providing supervision and activities, so that I can have four hours of personal time. The caregiver is lively, interesting, engaging, cooperative, knowledgeable, and curious. We've had two so far, and the first one was great. I liked her, but she had some sensitivities that didn't commiserate with someone who has FTD and no impulse control, etc. She said that she couldn't do it because of my husband's sense of humor, so she opted out. My husband loved her and I loved her as well. I was disappointed that happened. The next person who came was much more worldly and knowledgeable about folks with FTD.
