Highly recommended rehab center. My Father was a Patient post surgery. All the staff were very welcoming. Excellent service from the representative that my wife and I met at the Sentara. She was able to assess my father and answer all our questions, it made the transition from the hospital to the rehab centre very easy. The nursing staff did such a fantastic job with making sure that my father was well accommodated and made each of our visits like we were family. The physical therapy is excellent! Food was nice, alot nicer than hospital food. A+++++

My 95-year-old mother was recently diagnosed with covid and had to do a short stint in the hospital. After a couple of days, they released her to go to rehab. The only location that would take her was Manor Care. We had not heard good things, but our hands were tied. What we encountered there was even worse than expected. After a day or two of arriving and finding my mother sitting in wet underclothes, my sister – her main caregiver promptly brought her back to her home so that she could provide appropriate care. The condition of the facility is abominable as the pictures indicate (water damaged ceiling tiles, holes in doors, rust and mold throughout, cracked toilet seat, old and outdated devices). Quality of care is marginal at best, but more importantly they are extremely short-staffed.

I am going to give Manor Care Arlington the benefit of the doubt and say that the Covid pandemic has affected all health care facilities for the worse. Having said that, I did not find this facility to be at an acceptable standard. It is not OK not to provide towels for a patient. Only paper towels were provided for my husband. It is not OK not to respond to call buttons within a reasonable time, especially when someone is a known fall risk. It is not OK not to help get a patient up in the morning. LIghting in my husband's room was dim, and the water was not always hot. The room itself was shabby, with fixtures hanging off the wall and paint in poor shape. On the plus side, physical therapy was good, if infrequent. Follow-up has been terrible with little home care put in place as offered. I cannot recommend this facility unless major improvements are implemented.

Son place there 12/14 for rehab fromCancer Treatments! Starving him with pureed food when he had been working and eating regular food before being place there! Taking him real food everyday was a problem and expensive, but he ate it and begian to show improvement! Placed him on regular food-comes cold all the time! No one will microwave it for him! Myself or my sister do it for him when we are there! She is crippled and myself on my way back to Florida! He is slowly going down hill again! Linens in short supply also!

I have waited a while to share this. My father in law was transferred here in January after having a covid-related seizure. We were not allowed to see him but were told he was doing well. After five day he was diagnosed as malnourished and dehydrated. They missed the fact he could not swallow. He was transferred to the hospital. He was elderly and wore dentures. They disappeared somewhere in the transfer...both the hospital and Manor Care denied knowing anything about them. I was allowed to stand outside his room and look in but he was non responsive. My wife went by to do the same and was treated rudely. It seemed to me they were telling us he was doing well, while in fact he was not. You can imagine my feelings towards this place.

My in law is a current resident! There is one staff member, Gloria, who is helpful to our family but when she is not there zoom calls/visits do not happen. They dropped my relative off at a medical faculty in Tyson’s in a cab and left him sitting there ALONE in the lobby, in his wheelchair holding a sign with his name on it. The saddest thing to see a dementia patient all alone in a busy medical facility. When I called to inquire how to get him home from the appt, no one at manor care knew how he even got there, the nurse that sent him there was off duty or some excuse they give us. Also, his clothes were filthy and had brown crust all over him. When I called Chad at manor care , he was unreachable, always is! He told the receptionist for me to call red top cab to bring him back!!!!!! Chad calls me back and told me it was the family who should meet the patient at the appointment!!! What? What if family doesn’t live in the area?? Do not go here, covid has given this place an excuse to not be accountable for neglect - it’s disgusting. And this is just ONE of the incidents we had.

I was at this facility for 3weeks. This is the worst place to put anyone in the staff is very rude. I had two men nurse aide that really cares about their patiences. The nurse don't give you your medicine on time. I have wait 40 minutes our longer for a nurse to come and see what is the problem. The place is dirty and the food is nasty.

My brother is a resident at Manor Care Arlington and this place is very unprofessional and uncaring. I would never recommend anyone to use this nursing home for any family member or friend. You can never get in touch with anyone except the receptionist, and a Dr. or nurse is never available to speak to you about your family member's care. I can't wait to get my brother out of this place this week and at least his and our family nightmare of entrusting a nursing home will be over. This place should be shut down forever and I will be making a formal complaint about the rudeness, understaffed, and incompetent business practices they display. Don't ever use this nursing home, you will regret it. The Social Workers are useless and the Physical therapist are uncaring. I believe they are just there for a paycheck and not to properly care for these residents. I am in healthcare myself and I would never ignore my customers the way this place does. We are all internal and external customers and if it wasn't for us entrusting your facility to take care of our family members, you wouldn't have a reason to be there, so remember this the next time you decide to accept a new resident. My brother is extremely hard of hearing and by talking to him with a mask covering your face does not help when he's trying to read your lips. God help us all.

This place is horrible. I have been here a few hours, and I want to transfer. First I was never given a welcome package, and later I find out, they really don't know how to welcome you. The place smells pretty bad. For someone like myself, who has good humor, very happy and high spirited, it will immediately take you to a depression state. The staff is horrible. Not friendly, they seem to work for a paycheck, not because they like or love what they do. This is bad. As a patient, whether long, or short term, we want to know that our patient care staff, cares for us, and is there to make sure we are attended to, and that we are comfortable. I feel bad for the many that can't speak up for themselves, and the family members that have no idea what's really going on with their love ones. Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, I say, send someone undercover there, for 1, or 2 days and you will agree with me. Retrain staff, work on inside building structure , and make sure that your physical welcome, goes together with the welcome package. Which at this time I still haven't received any. I been here since 7 or 8pm, it is now 7:37am, I can't walk, or I would have left. Please work on this place. It could be a wonderful place for healing and recovery, but needs alot, alot of work. Thank you. I will keep you, the staff, patients, and even visitors, in my heart, thoughts, and prayers! !!!!

This was a horrible experience for my relative and our family. Avoid at all costs. Absolutely abysmal facility. I would give it zero stars if possible. My relative was kept in a soiled diaper ALL day - then wiped with a paper towel. They missed out on his medication several times. Doctor and most staff are rude and indifferent. They don't show up when called. They don't monitor the patient's health. The meals are served at all hours and dietician didn't pay attention to special requirements. No respect for patients or their caretakers.. They are understaffed - especially on the weekend. There were 1-2 therapists who were caring and empathetic. Shame on this company for taking advantage of people.. What kind of values does your company have?

Food is pretty good. The nurses and aides are kind but very overworked. Need more staff. A big shoutout to the therapists, physical, occupational, and speech. First class professionals! The facility itself is old and not in tip top shape, although the maintenance staff works very hard to keep it up. The administrative staff, at least those I dealt with directly, were terrible. The discharge planner (social worker) on my case was really incompetent. Rude, overbearing, condescending, and lazy. It's not that helpful just to hand a patient's relatives a bunch of brochures and send them off with hopes to feel better soon. This person was new to this care home and possibly to her profession, so here's hoping she improves. If it's important to you and your family to maintain the improvements you made with the great therapy, though, you might want to look elsewhere for now.

If I could give this place a zero, I would do so. This Manor Care facility has changed management and their current way of business and healthcare is beyond NON PROFESSIONAL and NON-CARING. There is a major lack of responsiveness to check on residents, unwelcoming desire to assist in family's concerns, and MAJOR short staff to attend to patients/residents. You will never speak to the attending doctor, but rather receive messages through various nurses or aids who do not want to provide their name so that they are not held accountable for misinterpreted health info. There is never a clear record of occurrences whether health action or issues on file in the resident's book. Your loved one's will be soiled and left in 1 depend for the ENTIRE day. Bed sores are passed off as something minor and they don't like for you to see them. So you must ask and stay on them for the sake of your loved ones, please do. Showers are not granted as they are suppose to be given 2xs a week. However they will tell you that wiping them off with bath wipes is appropriate. You wonder why the bed sores? This place needs a full overhaul with both new CNAs, nurses, and administration that are actually compassionate to both the resident's and family members . Administration needs to look beyond this facility as a cash cow (do the math.. $10k+ per month Longterm stay) and focus on being a reputable, clean, and medically safe business.

This place needs to be redone inside! It is dirty, dark and smells! No one would want have a loved one stay here or have to stay here himself/herself. The one good thing about it is the physical therapists are top notch. I would like to give the therapists five stars and some of the nurses/aids strong marks for being kind. There were others though who didn't seem like they wanted to be there at all! They have the patients lie in pee pads that are changed periodically but not often enough! They don't get them up every couple of hours (as I've seen in other rehab centers) to go the bathroom if possible. There is no set time for food to be delivered. I was there when lunch finally arrived at 2:30 p.m. The surroundings are depressing and I can't imagine being there! I would have nightmares as my loved one did. They also did not pick up on the fact my loved one had an infection that caused him to hallucinate! They thought he had dementia and it wasn't until many people told them that this was not the way this person normally behaved, they decided to test for an infection! That was unacceptable!

My mother was at ManorCare Health Services-Arlington for about a month during rehab the first time. I would not recommend it, and that is why I did not put her back in there. They were not responsive at all when you push the call buttons. I even had an instance where I was trying to help my mom get dressed, she lost her footing, I ended up with her on the floor and pushed the call button, and nobody showed up for about 30 minutes. I don't think that they had enough staff. Their rehab was really great. The physical therapists that were there were also great and really seemed to care about the people. It seemed to me that there was not enough people -- one nurse was covering 20 to 25 patients at one time, and that can be a lot.

This place is one of the worst that we visited. It's very dirty, with stains on the floors, nasty bathrooms with urine on the toilets and on the floor, no soap in the dispenser, and dirty tables for dining. On top of the conditions, the workers were all very rude and acted like it was a bother if you asked them something. I would never recommend this place.
