"Summerville Estates was more like a hotel, but Michael would be on his own, and he needs assisted living. It was very nice, clean, and fancy. The grounds were very nice and the price was adequate; it was definitely in our price range. There was a gentleman that was going to donate some of his things, so they had storage for Michael that I thought was nice. It was nice, but we just didn’t feel like putting him in independent living. "

"Dayspring provided excellent care for my cousin for the six months that she was there. I have had experiences with two different corporate-owned facilities. Although those facilities were "prettier" than Dayspring in Hollywood, there were problems with communication and staff turnover (including management). Conscientious owners on-site make a huge difference; my cousin received more individual attention and communication was seamless. The staff is friendly and helpful and the facility is always spotlessly clean. Highly recommended."

"The assisted living community of Cypress Square was very nice, but they currently have nothing available. I like the fact that everything is on one level, so there are no stairs and elevators. The rooms are adequate in size, and the dining room seems to be very nice. They are in the middle of repainting the place, so it's being refurbished, and I'm sure it will look very nice when it's finished. It seemed to be in good order, but they're in the middle of a renovation, so a lot of things had been removed, and they were covered up for the painters. I'm sure they're making structural repairs as they go along, too. Other than that, it seems to be a good place. The only thing my dad and I did not like about it was that they don't have a library. They have a rack of books, but they don't have a dedicated library, and for people who like to read a lot, that becomes a problem. They have to figure out how to get to the local public library, which I understand is nearby, but then they have to arrange transportation, so that was a drawback. It's a very small facility, and there are only 38 residents, which could be a nice thing, but the other thing that I disliked about it is that they allow residents to smoke. There is a place outside where they can go for smoking, but you still smell it everywhere you walk, so I don't like that. The only staff member that we really spent any time talking to was the marketing director. She was very nice, very friendly, and very thorough. We were also introduced to a few other people, but we didn't really get a chance to talk."

"I toured TerraBella Summerville. The price was really nice. They had only single rooms. They were very nice and quite large. The place didn't smell like a hospital. The employees were all polite. The facility was easy to clean, and everything was centrally-located. They offered all the amenities. It's literally next to the hospital and next to medical care. Restaurants and everything are all right there. Another thing I like about this place is that it's a lot smaller than the other community I saw. This only has 40 beds."

"My wife is in PruittHealth - Walterboro. Everything's fine. She's doing very well. This place is nice. I'm really happy I was able to get her here. Her room is very nice. The food is good. It's a beautiful day outside. The staff has taken the residents outside to sit on porches and things. They're able to go outside and enjoy the day. I've seen some of the shared rooms. They're a little bit bigger, of course, for two people, but they're nice. She is in a private room, and I thank God for that. They've got a nice physical fitness room, a nice rehabilitation room, arts and crafts, and all kinds of things for them to do. There are a lot of people here who are participating in them. They have somebody who comes in pretty much nightly and gives a little sermon, and then he sings songs."

"My father has been at the Victory House for 3 years now. We would have loved for him to be able to stay in his home, but with his dementia and mom’s passing, this seemed to be the best place for him. The staff are caring and call whenever there is a concern or medicine change. Dad is usually very jovial and happy to visit with us and seems very settled on his unit. The quarterly care team meeting are informative and helpful in his care. We are thankful for our dad, his military service and the ultimate benefit of him having a home away from home. "
