"My mother is a resident of Summerville Estates. It is an established place from mom's hometown. She rents an apartment from them, all her meals are served in the dining room, or if she's not feeling well, they will bring her meals into her apartment. They have housekeeping, and maintenance has been wonderful for some things that we've had adjustments on. She's there with a number of her friends, and friends that she's made when she arrived. They have a variety of floor plans to accommodate the handicap, as well as people that don't feel comfortable having to go up and down stairs or in the elevator to mealtimes as she's on the first floor. Prior to COVID, they offered all kinds of games in the activity room, offered singing every Monday, and there's actually a lady there now that plays during concerts, and before and after dinner."

"Dayspring provided excellent care for my cousin for the six months that she was there. I have had experiences with two different corporate-owned facilities. Although those facilities were "prettier" than Dayspring in Hollywood, there were problems with communication and staff turnover (including management). Conscientious owners on-site make a huge difference; my cousin received more individual attention and communication was seamless. The staff is friendly and helpful and the facility is always spotlessly clean. Highly recommended."

"The residents were very well taken care of at this facility. I and my fellow students had plenty of opportunities to meet the requirements we needed to get closer to our career goals, as the residents needs regarding their health, comfort, and quality of life were all addressed. As I had to personally handle many tasks to get them through the day, I can say with confidence they never had to do anything themselves that would compromise their safety or make them uncomfortable when it could be avoided.Regular activities always gave residents things to do to enjoy their stays as much as possible, the array of things wasn't massive but it was enough to help quell their boredom. The residents clearly enjoyed the activities and interacting with one another.I would say we the students were quite welcome by the facility as despite their good intentions they were a little understaffed. I do wonder if there is more of a struggle to maintain things when the extra hands weren't around to help, but if so, it wouldn't be due to lack of effort. The employees clearly cared about and enjoyed what they did. "

"I am extremely pleased with Hallmark Healthcare Center. A friend of mine has been there for several years and I have visited often. I believe they do a wonderful job. I have visited in others and in comparison the rooms are a nice size for two people. The staff is cooperative and many bend over backward to be helpful. We are dealing with the Covid19 virus at this time and they initiated a "guardian angel" program using their support staff to visit residents in an effort to take the place of family visits. I appreciate the fact that staff members are compassionate not only to my friend but to me as a concerned friend. They have lots of activities available for the residents and programs where the family is invited to participate. I actually like the food. My only complaint has been with the laundry so I took her wash out. Since Covid that hasn't been possible but the laundry workers and the Guardian Angels have made sure everything has been done to her satisfaction."

"We went to The Retreat at Summerville, and the tour was excellent. They showed us around the whole facility. We went to the activities room. We went to the dining hall and the memory care area. They showed us an empty room. That way we could see where my parents are going to have their own set up and where they could put their own furniture. Then we saw another room that was already set up with the resident's furniture, so we would know how to basically set up theirs. We got to meet some of the staff and some of the residents. The people that lived there said that they were very friendly and nice, and that our parents would like it there (which we really liked). That way we knew it wasn't just us reading online. You know how people liked it. We actually got to talk to people who lived there, so we would know if our parents would like it. It was very nice to be able to talk to people who live there, to be able to let us know that they liked them. It was very, very reassuring to know that people who already live there enjoyed living there. They liked the staff there, so that was very reassuring and very nice to know. They had a large area where they gathered for watching TV, playing chess, and card games. They had an area where they could have services for Bible study. They had checkers."
