The Best Senior Living Communities in Noble, OK

"I'm in assisted living at Village at Oakwood. The staff is consistent, kind, and efficient. They have a lot of games like bingo, dominoes, and card games. They have a lady that comes out and does a racing derby with miniature horses. They have a man that comes out and does singing. There are lots of activities. They have a little van and they take a group of people to shop, they do crafts, and they have bible studies. They just offer a little bit of everything for everybody. They take surveys every once in a while and ask what kind of things we would like to do. They cater to what we want. They have a special every meal, and they have a menu that you can order from. There's a pretty big variety. You can pretty much have what you want and then they offer snacks during the day, drinks, coffee, tea, juice, lemonade, and all kinds of things. I feel like I'm eating all the time. Their food is very good. The staff in the kitchen are very, very efficient, very sweet, and real kind to everybody, and they're just happy to wait on you. I really enjoy the facilities here. We have nice big bedrooms, the bathrooms are big, and we have a living room, and they keep remodeling. All the time I've been here, they're updating everything. They're always improving and making things better. They have a nice library and all kinds of gathering rooms and kitchens. It's a nice place. If I have any type of problem or anything, they are right on it. They care about what you care about. I really like it here. They come in, they clean, and they do everything for you."

"As we drove through Laurel Springs Retirement Living, we saw seniors working on flower gardens. As we went through the clubhouse, we saw people playing a board game. The place was immaculately clean. There was no trash anywhere. Nothing was out of place. You could see that in each of the units, residents took a lot of pride in how their place looked. When we went in, I was very taken by the fact that you could get the floor changed to carpet or to wood or tile, whatever you wanted. My wife and I were very taken by their configurations of the various units and the choices available. There was actually a waiting list, which we understand. The manager was right on the answers to the questions. She was open and honest about anything. We felt very comfortable with her."

"My mother is here now. I will recommend it to others. Her room is very nice. They have very good food. They have happy hour, and they have field trips. "

"I have been coming and volunteering with Noble Health Care Center for over the last fifteen years. I have had multiple family members in this facility. And have referred many of my church family to this facility. And we have been nothing but satisfied. The staff has always been very friendly and caring. And tended to our loved ones as if they were their own family. The administration has always welcomed any suggestions and addresses any concerns immediately. Anna and Jackie are very caring hard working and have always made sure that the Residents have been taken care of and has always been available to answer any questions. I have volunteered in many homes and this is by far the best facility around. "

"I went to Savannah House of Norman II. They're also owned by Carlsbad. They're a senior apartment. They do not provide meals, but they have like a recreation room where they have parties and you could rent it if you had a family gathering or something, you could reserve it for that kind of thing. They were very nice. It was probably one of the coldest days we had here so far in Oklahoma. It was right around Christmas. Their elevator quit working because of the cold. It's an outside elevator. Their facility has outside walkways that are protected from rain coming straight down, but if you had anything blowing, you'd still get wet or whatever. But it was very nice. The people were extremely nice and helpful with information. I looked at a two-bedroom-one-bath, and it was nice and clean and well set up, but it was a little higher than what I wanted to pay. The staff who toured us was a lady and she was one of the leasing agents. She was very helpful. She gave me a lot of information. We saw two different apartments. One of them had been mislabeled. She thought it was a one-bedroom, and when we got there, we found out it was a two-bedroom. It was a very clean place. You could walk up and down the stairs or you could take the elevator. But the elevator was outside so you were in the elements. "

"Mom will be moving to Rivermont at the Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care. We liked it because of its location and pricing. The person that toured us around was very kind and very knowledgeable. They offer all the amenities and facilities that mom would need. They have courtyards, a salon, an exercise room, and three meals a day."

"Rivermont at the Trails Independent Living had very nice grounds. They had an outdoor place where you can sit on chairs under the trees. So, the outside facilities were nice. It's an older facility. So, it is not in tip-top shape, but the people were caring and warm. The staff was excellent. They check on you every day to make sure you're OK. They're very courteous and they have lots of good activities. They have art activities and the typical bingo. We did not have washing facilities in our apartment, but there was a washing facility on the premises that we could take out to wash. You can also get your wash done each week for $5 if you don't want to do it yourself. The food was above average. The reason I liked them so well was because they served later. They serve until 7:00 in the evening."

"The Carlstone is new and the interior floor is beautiful and modern. It had a dedicated saferoom for tornadoes, which we wanted. It had ground-floor apartments that you could go outside. On their second floor, they had another living area space and their Pilates is up there. We didn't go in there because they were closed at the time. They had additional space on the second floor. There are second-floor apartments. They had an activities room, but they were not able to show it to me that day. They just had a New Year's party in the dining area. They still had glitter on the floor and people were walking around with funny hats on. The apartment was pretty classic and it seemed to be the model that everybody is using. You walk into a modified kitchen area with some kind of flooring and then you go a few feet into an open space that is your living area, then the bedroom and the bath. I am not a carpet person, and I know that's modern for my generation. When I see apartments that are carpeted like this, I'm a bit disappointed. I understand some people like it for falls and things like that, but I have allergies and I'm not very fond of carpets, so that's just a personal preference. It was pretty much the standard one-bedroom apartment, but I've gotten three calls from them that they have apartments available that met my needs. The one negative is they don't have a coffee shop that the other place has. You have to go to the "desk" which makes you feel like you're going to the nurses' desk at the hospital and that's where the coffeepot is. There's no gathering spot where you could sit and drink your coffee and read your paper or anything like that. You pick up your cup, you go someplace else. The exterior is stark. There is no exterior planting. The area where the doors open out to kind of a central courtyard is not gated and secure. Unfortunately, the neighborhood is right on the edge of a major intersection and the fairgrounds can be a high traffic area. To me, parts of it should be gated so that you can feel safe. The staff during the tour was excellent. They apologized that they did not have a lot on the list because they were so newly open and that they had not filled all their apartments because of COVID. They were kind of doing it very slowly, trying to keep everybody safe, so they did not have a whole lot of activities."

"The manager at Savannah House Senior Housing was very nice. She asked good questions like what you wanted to see, what you were looking for, or how much room you needed. We looked at a couple of apartments and the two bedrooms were very nicely put together. There was plenty of room. It was probably some of the coldest days when we visited, so they had maintenance going around. Even their elevator quit working. It was so cold they couldn't keep it going. She then showed me the meeting room and they have activities there. They didn't provide meals. They were set up just to provide activities and you could rent it out and everything. It was clean and well put together, so it would be a nice place to stay. The only thing was the elevator was outside. You had a shelter to walk in, but if it was raining and blowing or something, you would still get wet. Sometimes in Oklahoma, we get icy below-zero weather. So in the wintertime, it's kind of hard."

"Angel Cove is a wonderful alternative to larger facilities and institutions. The home is well maintained, clean and easily accessible for all the residents. The staff are well trained and focused on caring for the residents, not talking on cell phones or unable to be found. If you are not able to live independently, this is the next best home away from home. The food is tailored to the residents likes, and it always smells wonderful. This place is awesome!!!!! "

"I liked that Wickshire Senior Living of Norman was more of a one-level facility. Their pricing structure was such that two of my in-laws could share a room and the price wasn't going to go up. The people were very friendly, very nice, and very helpful. The rooms were considerably larger than any other place that I saw. They had nice activity rooms. It was structured in such a way that they tried to work with people's interests and make sure that it wasn't just one group activity. They had a person on site who was going to be directing activities and tailoring them to individual interests."
