Altercare of Mayfield Village

My mom has been in Altercare for the last month. The facility was very clean and her occupational and physical therapy have been amazing! She has progressed very nicely under their care. The support staff has been very kind and easy to work with! I would highly recommend Altercare in Mayfield Village, Ohio for skilled nursing rehabilitation.

My aunt was at Altercare for roughly 39 days. The rooms were fine and double occupancy. They had enough room, but they were like hospital bedrooms. It's pretty typical and not what I would consider to be a good long-term living, but for somebody who is disabled or unable to take care of themselves, it would be OK. They were clean and accessible. The food presentation was nice and smelled good. The direct caregivers, the PT, the nurses, and staff was pretty good, helpful, and friendly and they seem to take somewhat of an interest. My biggest problem with the entire community was lack of communication sometimes among themselves as well as with me. I was the POA, and I didn't always know what was going on. I would rate the staff a 4 and the administration a 2.5.

My stay for rehab after my second knee replacement was terrible. instead of a walker, I was given a wheelchair without footrest and told to get around by pushing myself. Very little was done to help me recover. There was no ice for my knee as it became more and more swollen. There was no way to get up and walk. When I Explained that I planned to go home, I was told I must be a drug addict who wanted to go home and take extra meds. I'm pretty easy to please, but--from my experience-- Altercare of Mayfield is not an effective rehab facility.

Altercare has great staff, and the facility is very clean. They have a very good physical therapy and occupational therapy department as well. I would recommend them because I think they are great. The staff is wonderful. I liked them because they were kind and have gone of their way to meet the residents' needs.

He gets very good care at Altercare of Mayfield. It’s a small community so there aren't lots of people to deal with which makes it easier. It’s immaculate. The food looks fine. I like the staff in there and I like the fact that you can talk to everyone in the facility.

Clumsy Climber

I was admitted for several weeks after a rock climbing accident for rehabilitation and recovery. The place was clean and well kept and had more of a home atmosphere than a hospital which is good because I hate hospitals. The staff was friendly when not being pushy, but that was understandable given the recovery effort. It was a comfortable and quiet stay and even the food was pretty good.
