"The staff at Samuel F. Vilas was excellent. They were mainly young adults probably in their early twenties, and there were some older women that were downstairs in the nursing station. Those young people are very energetic and nice. From what my mother-in-law is saying, the food is very good, and there is plenty of it too. I wasn't there that long, but from what I understand, they had reading rooms and had some game rooms. I guess there are a couple of church services that are there on the weekend. We were up there in the winter, and it seemed to be very well kept and well maintained. It was nice and very clean. We actually looked in some of the restrooms, and they were spotless. It’s comfortable there. They have couches, lounges, recliners, and a couple of TV rooms. It’s very house oriented; it’s not like an institution. It’s got paintings and furnishings, and the bedrooms are nice. It looks like an old colonial house with one small parking lot on one side. It’s actually got a wraparound porch, so when the weather gets nice they can sit outside. "

"I used to take my brother there in the morning before I went to work for three long years. They were wonderful and kind to my brother. When he passed away, I got a wonderful card. Everybody that went to the day care signed the card and wrote a note for me and they said they would miss him and they enjoyed having him there. The facility is clean and they have crafts. They met him at the door with a cup of coffee in the morning because he loved his coffee. Everything I could have wanted for him during the day and I just wish that he had been at day care instead of that home. "

"My mom was at Clinton County for many, many years before she passed away. She needed help with her daily activities, hygiene, and she just wasn't able to do any of that at home. After her stroke, her attitude was very poor and it was impossible to reason with her so I thought she would do better in a nursing home. They tried and went out of their way to accommodate her. She was in a double room but they tried to make it as homey as possible but she would argue with the other resident. They actually had a construction people come in and put a wall for her and she had more privacy. They went above and beyond to try to make her comfortable. They had physical therapy there which the doctor asked her to have. She enjoyed the activities like bingo, arts and crafts. Because she loves cooking so much, they tried to have her do some cooking chores with them. They really try to accommodate her very much. "

"While visiting Meadowbrook I have seen excellent patient care. The nurses and aides are very understanding and kind to the residents. The facility is very clean and well maintained. The rooms are nice and they allow the residents to have pictures and their own decor to make it feel more like home. At this facility my great grandmother can have her hair done by a hairstylist once a week, her laundry done, and participate in many different types of activities. Some of the activities include painting, baking, and socializing with other residences. The nurses and aides at the facility make the family of the residents feel at home and are very accommodating. Overall, I would recommend this nursing home to anyone that has to consider putting a loved one into an assisted living facility. It makes not only the residents but also the family of the residents feel at home and make it as comfortable as possible for everyone. "

"This is a nice nursing home. All of the staff there is friendly and seem to care about all the patients. The facility is clean and taken care of. They have all kinds of things for the people that stay there to do like exercising, getting their hair done, going outside, listening to music, watching birds, and an activity room. Every person that stays there gets all their meals provided to them. The meals are good sized and are made with quality ingredients. During the holidays family is welcomed to go there and eat with their relatives at no extra cost. The rooms are nice and kept clean however they are pretty small and most rooms have multiple people in them. The only downside I have seen to this nursing home is that it tends to smell. It's not a really bad smell but it smells like dirty laundry. Other than that this nursing home is a good place. "
