I chose The Springs of Ballentine for my husband. It's a great place. It's brand new, and they don't have many residents yet, so some of their activities aren't up and running yet. Otherwise, it's very clean. The attendants are very kind and helpful. I've been pretty pleased. It's a memory care facility. It's all inclusive. Everything is taken care of. Everything's one price. I have tasted his food at various times, and overall, I think it's good food. Value for money is very fair.

We trusted them with my father's care. We were sold on how pretty the place is and the charisma of the executive director who made it sound like Eden. In less than two months he was almost dead from neglect. They weren't feeding him, they were withholding fluids (despite my repeated requests out of concern & despite the medical provider directing staff to give him more fluids). When we visited he was obviously dehydrated. If we handed him a drink, he greedily consumed it. He was not able to get drinks or food himself. He was unresponsive when I asked them to call EMS. His sodium was 168 (if you don't know, that's nearly fatal) from dehydration. It took 4 days of IV fluids before he started to normalize. His lab work also shows that he's malnourished. And the ED found NINE pressure injuries - including one that tunnels TO THE BONE on his sacrum. They hid all of this from us. He nearly died. I'm sharing this in hopes it will save someone else's loved one. They not only didn't communicate any concerns, they actively tried to hide his condition from us. And none of this is libel/false, I can provide an extensive amount of information and medical records. To address some of the things below... Food: they had a menu on the wall, but every dinner we visited was the same pasta noodles with red sauce. Activities: the only activity we ever saw (in 2 months with multiple visits) was TV. They stick everyone in a big room and turn on a movie or television. Staff: They seem nice, but obviously couldn't or wouldn't actually care for my father. Facility: beautiful place - looks are very deceiving. Value: Way overpriced when you consider they may severely neglect your loved one.
