I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The place always smelled of urine and feces. My loved one was allowed to fall many times, the last time, breaking their neck, and two weeks later, passing away. I would NOT recommend this place for the care of your loved one. Their personal items were always disappearing, never to be seen again.

Tonja L is in charge of a place that intercepted my mom's Social Security payments without telling us. Hung up on us and didn't respond to emails about them taking her money. Put paperwork in front of a woman diagnosed with dementia and schizophrenia to sign over her assets. Refused to provide names or contact information for staff members that could describe my mom's condition to a judge so we could get conservatorship. Claimed I was responsible for my mom's bills - which their own lawyer admitted wasn't true. Shady, shady, shady. I invite them to tell me which parts of this are untrue and I will change it.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father has been in Life Care Center of Grandview for three weeks. I like the involvement of the staff. I haven't had any issues when it comes to the nursing staff. Everybody seems helpful. The thing is, every time you go into memory care, you have to find somebody to let you in the unit, and that's kind of difficult because some people are not around, so you have to walk around the whole building. But other than that, I have no complaints. I'm pretty happy with his care. The dining area looks very cozy and comfortable. They have TV and games. My father seems to like the food. He's in a private room by himself. He seems to like it. He has his own TV. They let me move the furniture around to kind of make it more comfortable for him. My father goes to physical therapy and speech therapy. They play games with them at 3:00 every day, and sometimes he participates. They kind of let him walk down if he wants to, and they don't pressure him to go. And they have a music time where they kind of like dance and stuff.

My wife is in Life Care Center Of Grandview which is a skilled nursing and rehab. The place is alright. They have a couple of therapist, I like them because they go above and beyond. They're really good, and most of the staff there is really good. Some of the food is okay. I was there before they locked it down because of the virus. They've got something for the residents to do. Like they give them bogus money which they can use to buy stuff like chips and candy. Overall, I would say it's an average place. It's an older building but it looks nice and is taken care of.

My mom was at the rehabilitation and she worse off then she came. She had bed sores when she left..It was a bad experience for her and us...Some of the aides are very sweet but over worked .my mom would hit the call button no one would come for hours....We got out and she's going home where she belongs...wow they need to close this place down all there doing is babysitting.

I visited this facility

I visited my father every day for 10 days. Not once did anyone say how he was doing in physical, occupational or other therapy. Not once did anyone report on his eating habits. Not once did we see anyone change his diaper without our asking. The Social Workers were especially bad. They were too busy to speak with relatives. They would tell relatives they would call back in 5 minutes and not return a call for hours. Don't entrust your friend, relative or pet to this facility unless neglect is the standard of care you are seeking.

I visited this facility

I went to Life Care Center of Grandview. They had rehabilitation and skilled nursing. I thought they were very good. The person who gave me the tour was very nice and very informative. They had therapy and exercise. The room was average.

Did not care for this place. I placed my mother there 1/15 after a terrible experience from another place. At that time it was good, same staff everyday. But after a year it has gone down, different nurses everyday, I didn't like the care my mother was receiving. This last week I lost my mother and I blame a lot of it on them. Don't try to talk to the finance dept that is a looking battle. 3 staff members in a 1 1/2 they won't call you back and do not follow up on issues.

My friend is on a nursing home called LifeCare Center, and he is going to be there for quite some time. He had been there before, so we chose it. It’s fairly clean, and I haven’t had seen many bugs. The food are not really diabetic food caregivers, but it’s better than most.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Dad went to Life Care Center of Grandview for a rehab after a stroke. Their nurses were not good. The physical therapy department was awesome but not the nursing care. The nurses were not friendly. When you ask them a question, they don’t know the answer. They have to ask somebody else. The place was not updated, although dad had a private room. The food was not good, not appetizing. We just brought him food so he can eat. I suggest they improve their menu selection. Their employees should be a lot more friendly and more understanding.

I visited this facility

I was so lucky to find this facility for my grandmother. The Nursing and Rehab Staff are the best anywhere is the Kansas City area. The therapy Gym has the most up to date equipment and the thing that I like the most was that whatever time I went in to visit her. The residents and building always looked neat and clean. You can tell that they really like what they do.

I am a past client of this provider

My father was in the facility and I hated it. I was a teenager at the time and dreaded going to see him, even though I was there everyday. The staff were ghetto, disrespectful, and acted as if they were at home and had the ability to do as little as they wanted. I asked for communication with me about my father instead of them calling my mother who was also sick, but was blown off. The facility was also dirty and smelly. My dad said it was okay and he was fine there but I think he just said that for my well being. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
