My mother and her best friend were residents of Lenoir Woods. They began residing in the village in independent living in their 90’s and as each aged with dementia and/or physical decline, moved through assisted living, memory care and finally skilled nursing over seven years. I cannot say how deeply grateful we were for the excellent and loving care each received at every level of care. After 7 years, my car seems to know the way to Lenoir as well as my heart. I was with one or both of them almost daily over those precious years and I would never consider a different residential setting. The staff from dining, direct care, nursing, house-keeping, maintenance and administration are extraordinary. My loved-ones passed at ages 95 and 100. I miss everything about my last years with them at Lenoir Woods. Some families may have issues because the end of life journey is never an easy path to travel wether it is 15 years or one month. I found that open communication was ALWAYS a pathway to resolution to any concern and I loved Lenoir all the more for that. Sign me as, No Regrets and Forever with a Grateful Heart.

We toured Lenoir Woods. It was an excellent tour, but the facility wasn't exactly what we were looking for. The staff was warm and engaging. The facilities were fresh and clean. The way the amenities were gathered around what they called Main Street, some of the independent living units were too far away from the central amenities for my own parents.

I toured Lenoir Woods. It's just a nice place. It looks like you could get any kind of food you wanted. They had three choices. They had fine dining and then just regular dining, and then if you just wanted something like a hamburger. They have a pastor on hand, and they have like a small kind of church. You don't even have to leave the place to go to church on Sunday. They have a library. They have a theater. And I have planned trips to do things. It was very nice. The staff knew what they were talking about. They weren't new at it. They were good at it. The facility was very clean and very nice. The only thing I didn't like is that they wanted so much money down here. So I guess the more money you put in, the less you pay monthly.

We went over Lenoir Woods, and it was pretty good. They're excellent. Everything we looked at was very nice. They've been in the business for a long time, and they seem to know what they're doing. The people seemed to be happy with it. Everything is spotless. It looks like it's brand new. They did complete the renovation in 2017, and it looked beautiful. It's close to the doctors. My daughter lives in Columbia, and my sons when they come to visit me have a place to stay. They provide provisions for visitors and everything.

From the first day we moved to Lenoir Woods we have felt welcomed and cared for. The management and staff make sure that issues important to senior citizens are their first priority. They made the transition to Lenoir Woods easy with their attention to details. The sales staff listened to our needs and provided us with many options to be sure we would be happy here. We currently live in independent living and our home was perfectly matched to our requests. We could not be happier with our selection. The Activity Staff is excellent at providing entertainment and many options to develop new interests. We are amazed at the variety of things to do here. Movies, entertainment from the community, social hours just to name a few. We have a gym, exercise room and swimming pool to keep us active and healthy. The training staff is always there to help and actually make exercise fun. And the food! We are blessed to have a chef and food service staff that keep meals healthy and interesting. They make a variety of new items to experience and well as the favorites we all like. We do have a full kitchen in our home to prepare home cooked meals when we choose. We are so happy to have found a retirement community that truly listens to the needs of senoir citizens. We feel covered in a big security blanket and know that we will be cared for and nutured in our retirement.

My mother entered the REACH unit upon being released from the hospital. She required more attention than they were willing to give. Within 3 days, she developed an infection, had severe swelling and was nearly unresponsive. She had to be taken back to the ER or I believe she may have died there. It took 3 conversations with the nurse's station over 3 hours to get something my mother needed. During this time, they had people just standing around. The facility is nice, but I chose to take her elsewhere when she got discharged from the hospital a second time. Have been pleased there.

We went to the skilled nursing part of Lenoir Woods. It's a huge facility. It's run by the Lutherans and it's everything from single family homes to duplexes and apartments, assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing, memory unit, and rehab. They showed us available rooms in skilled nursing and assisted living. I really liked it, but we were looking for a place where my brother could move in and stay in that place, and they don't do that. If you change to a different level of care, you move to a different room and building. My husband did rehab there as well.

Lenoir Woods is a full-service community with everything, but it's expensive. There's a library, a chapel, a main dining, and a place you can get food anytime day or night. We had problems with tobacco smoke there. We ate there several times, and it was good.

Do not send anyone you care about to this place. In March of 2017 my dad went to REACH for rehab after a fall. He was unable to do rehab the first day so Dr K doubled the percocet dose and changed it from as needed to a scheduled dose. Dad went into a deep sleep and wouldn't wake. When we realized he wasn't just getting much-needed rest I asked for narcan to counteract the percocet. The nurse said it was not an overdose and refused. I asked the second nurse and again was denied, as Dad stopped breathing. I told the EMT's it was an overdose, but the nurse told them I was wrong. At the hospital ER, finally the doctors listened and tried narcan, which immediately woke him up, but by then the respiratory failure was irreversible. Dad spent the next few weeks suffering on an external ventilator before he passed away.

Lenoir Woods was great, friendly, and progressive. They served excellent food and had lots of activities. There was a gym, and there will be a swimming pool. They were building additional apartments, too. There were patio homes, which is what we're interested in, a chapel, a game room, a movie room, a good-sized dining room, and a café.

Lenoir was good. The staff was fine, the grounds looked good, and the residents were friendly and cordial. They had a gym and a swimming pool, and there were plenty of events within the area.

My loved one was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness . The doctor recommend hospice and full care . The staff was not available to answer questions or provide assistance. Once I did get through they chose to reply by email than directly with a phone call. Thank goodness to hospice social worker for help . She currently is working on our behalf to find the right place.

My neighbors have moved to Lenoir Woods. It is a big multi-level community, so it is a huge place. It has independent apartment living, and it is full of activities. They have everything in-house -- which is a very lovely place -- and the activities director does a marvelous job of programming the activities. They have a movie theater where they have the first run movies, they have concerts, they have the restaurant and the formal dining, and then they have the chapel. They have everything. The food is fine; I have been a guest there, and the dining room is beautiful. The staff is excellent. I don't think anybody who lives there has any complaints ever. The rooms are large. They have all types of space. I know they have 24-hour security. It is well-lit, and it is part of the Lutheran services, so it is an excellent community.

My friend is living at Lenoir in assisted living. She's in the brand new building. She's a very difficult person to work with and they do amazing with her but it's more her than them. It's all great, it was neat, it was clean. Their staff was kind, courteous and respectful of the patients. I think they're honest and honorable integrity. She has her own room, fairly large room with a built-in kitchenette area. They have an exercise time in the morning, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and bingo in the morning. In the afternoons, they do a craft or chair exercises again. Thursday is nail care time.

Lenoir Woods was a little older facility but it seemed like the staff there was very caring and very responsive to the residents. They have things to do for their residents. We saw that they had a sing-a-long, church service, and programs for their residents and they looked nice. The environment there was adequate but they need to improve on the appearance because it looked a little cluttered.

We visited the Lenoir Manor in Columbus, Missouri while searching for a suitable assisted living facility for our uncle. Many of our family members live in the area, so this would be an ideal place for him to live. The outer grounds looked well-kept and pleasant. The staff greeted us and seemed very warm and friendly "“ which is the most important thing to our family. We want our uncle to be treated well in his new home. The foyer was nicely decorated and seemed homey, as did all of the communal rooms. The apartments were all clean, well-kept and conveniently designed. They take the time to personalize to each resident's tastes. The activity calendar features many healthy and stimulating activities. We liked that the staff encourages participation and tries to make everything interesting for its residents. They have outings to local libraries, events, culture, restaurants, shopping and even athletic activities. They take suggestions to update the schedule as much as possible. The dining areas were nicely designed and warm. Residents may choose communal dining or more private situations. There are places for them to visit with families, as well. The food looked deliciously prepared, as well as nutritious. The dietician and chef changes up the menu to keep it interesting and encourage resident to make suggestions. It was clear that the staff is more than competent at what they do, they enjoy their jobs and enriching the lives of the residents. We've visited quite a few assisted living facilities and thus far, the staff at this one are some of the most competent and friendly we've met yet.
