Rooms are nice and clean . The staff is great. I see them playing bowling they read the pledge and say prayer before meals. Food is good. I often can eat with Mom . I get updates on her and she is happy there. She is always clean and her clothes are clean. She gets her hair fixed once a week. Always looks very nice. I'm so glad we have her there.

My mother is a past private pay resident. County inspectors can’t inspect private pay rooms, & her room was not cleaned for months. After staff was notified & purportedly cleaned up broken glass, mom cut her foot on the remaining glass in the shower. She got toe fungus from the filth. There is no ‘cleaning’ specialist paid to clean. Even after notification by the health dept, the regular staff cleaned superficially. Mom’s lung problems were exasperated due to the dust. An APS investigator reported that during his visit staff was cursing with residents in earshot. When I removed my mother she was dehydrated. She was left in her room walking in circles, sad and alone most of the day. Activities were very limited...entertainers a couple hours twice a month, a pastor for one hour a week. There was 1 staff at night so safety was an issue, both with front door access for visitors until 10pm, and finding the staff when needed. The hallways narrow & the limited common space for residents is unacceptable. I’m glad I got my mother out; she was miserable.

We have my parents in Diamond Willow Assisted Living right now. It’s fine, cheery, and calm, and the staff is wonderful. I have not dined there, but I did taste my mom’s meal and I thought it was fine. They have a corner end unit in a nice-sized room. My mom and stepfather both have dementia, and they’re very good with them, keeping an eye on them, and making sure that they don’t fall. They wear an alarm around their necks, and whenever my mom needs them, she presses the button, and they are right there for her. They provide safety first and visit with them. They’ve been there a month, and I think they’re really becoming accustomed to being there. I couldn’t ask for anything better.
