"Kina Ole Estate was a little nicer than the other place I visited, but it was more expensive. It's newer, so it was more modernized. The rooms and everything were a lot newer. The staff was excellent and very well informed. The rooms were very nice and modern. They're more of apartment-style. They had a gathering area outside. The outside area, the kitchen area, the dining, and the service that they were giving to the residents were nice. We didn't see too many of the functions going on because we were coming in at a certain time, but they always had some kind of activity, so that was good."

"Hale Kū'ike Bayside is very nice, very high-end, and beautifully decorated. They have great accommodations and a lot of areas outside for people to come to visit and have lunch with their family members. They also have a private dining room that seats 10 people. So if you wanted to have a group of people, you could, but you would have the catering yourself. They have lots of activities all day. It's a very well-run organization. They have a large staff working with them. They have individual rooms and lots of common areas."

"Hale Ku'ike was of a really good quality. It's clean, very caring, and the location is phenomenal. The staff was great. I don't have any complaints. They have a beautiful outdoor space."

"The Plaza at Moanalua is close to where we live. My mother-in-law does the exercise classes. They do tai-chi and chair aerobics classes everyday. They go on little drives to different places, and she does bingo. They do have a shuttle that they can use if her doctor’s appointments are in the morning. They serve 3 meals. They wash their sheets and towels for them. They have a podiatrist and a physical therapist that come, and one or 2 days a week, they have someone who does hair. The staff is very friendly, and they’re happy to be there. They’re doing a good job. "

"I placed my mom at The Plaza at Punchbowl. It's a relatively new facility. It's convenient to where I live so I can visit often. The administrators are really helpful. They have good staff and bad staff. The older aides seem to be a lot more attentive to the patients. The younger ones aren't as attentive to the patients. My mom loves the food. They have a lot of activities from gardening, to exercise, to hula, to outings. They have their own shuttle that can take people on outings. They celebrate birthdays with cake and ice cream for everybody. They bring in people to sing music. Once a month, they have people come in and sing for them."
