"We went to The Brookfield at Oaktree. We met with the one in charge of memory care, she's really sweet and looks like they do a lot for the people there, and have lots of activities. So that sounds good. One lady came in to show a picture that she'd colored, and they did all kinds of art projects. The rooms were big. They were twice as big as the rooms Mom's in now. I didn't see a pool or gym, as far as the library, she's got a cabinet there with a bunch of books in it, and I'm sure people just donate books to it. So it's not a lot of books. But the one thing I did like about it is that the memory care is in a separate building. They have their own area where they eat, and they have their own courtyard for memory care. It's built around its own little courtyard so they could get outside whenever they want, and then walk around the courtyard or sit out the sun or whatever."

"My mom is a resident of Seniors Comfort Assisted Living. I liked the staff, and I don't have to worry because I know she's cared for. I like the fact that she has her room, a bed, a recliner, and a TV in the room. It's like she still has the comforts of being at home. They take them to an appointment. They have home-cooked meals three times a day. They have snacks. They give their daily medicine. Elijah, the owner, is a very caring man. He's a wonderful person."

"I found everything about The Atrium at Serenity Pointe to be absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious; everything was fine. I didn't have any problem with anything there. There is fishing and going out on the lake, and they have bus trips. I didn't get into the activities very much. The staff was very good -- excellent. It had everything I wanted. "

"Mt. Carmel Community at The Village is quite new. It's only several years old. It has varying levels of care. There were independent cottages as well as assisted living, but there's no skilled nursing on-site. They have several different floor plans available. The independent living is all one floor plan because they're individual cottages. The assisted living has varying floor plans. Some are 400 square feet up to 700 square feet. The cafeteria was very nice. The residents seemed to be engaged in various activities. They showed me a calendar and I observed people playing cards in their community room and some older gentlemen watching television together. The staff was very friendly. They had extra staff members that day because it was an open house. They were very helpful and answered every question to my satisfaction. It's an excellent facility."

"Mt. Carmel was a spread-out community on one level. They had an exercise room and laundry room. The food was good, and they had a salad bar. Everybody was caring. My loved one has a cat that she wanted to bring with her, and everybody said she could. "
