"Colonial Senior Living is very nice and new. It has been open for two years now. The staff members are most accommodating and very kind. The food is magnificent. It is home-cooking; it is excellent. I have a 2-bedroom where I have one big bathroom and a patio. Our breakfast is served from 7 to 9 a.m., lunch is served from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and evening dinner is 5 to 7 p.m. We have exercises, Bible studies, bingo, and cooking activity. A girl comes around in a van and she brings us books from the library. She comes every week. She finds out what you like and provides books of your selection. Once a month we go out and have dinner some place, and they provide transportation for us."

"Colonial Assisted Living and Independent Living was much older. It was very nice, but it was not as new. The staff who accommodated me was very knowledgeable and very kind. The dining area looked nice. They had more people, too. However, the rooms were smaller. The place was very clean but it was older."

"My grandmother was a resident with Redbanks Towers for many years. The facility is a multi-level apartment complex with the main floor consisting of the hair salon, dining hall and activities room while the other floors are residents apartments. The facility was always kept very clean and inviting to all guests and residents. There were always several activities and gatherings for the residents to attend, meet and chat with the other residents. There are also sitting areas on each floor that allowed residents to meet without the stress of going down to the first floor to talk with friends. Communication between the residents seemed to be to focus of the complex to give the residents the feeling of living in a community rather than an assisted living environment. Many residents who were unable to travel easily between the floors,such as my grandmother, left the doors open so that fellow residents could simply 'pop in' and chat when in the neighborhood. The faculty was well trained and I believe genuinely cared for all the residents within the community. Any complaint about the apartment whether it involved the air conditioning not cooling correctly or just a light bulb that needed replacing was always handled by maintenance quickly and professionally. It is always difficult to talk with loved ones about moving into a facility such as a assisted living home as no one wished to lose any of the independence however, once my grandmother became apart of Redbanks Towers she enjoyed the community and environment that Redbanks had provided for their residents. "

"My mother-in-law is staying in Henderson Nursing and Rehabilitation for long-term care. They do have rehab there, and occupational, and speech therapy. Most of the staff is outgoing and helpful. It looks like they have a lot of group activities going on when I visit. There's plenty of room to walk around her bed, and she's got her TV."

"My grand father was a resident in this facility. Overall, it was a nice place for him to live. They had recently remodeled and redecorated the facility and gave it a more home-like setting. The food was okay for a nursing facility. It was very clean looking and they always had people in there re-doing the floors. The nursing staff was very knowledgeable in regards to their work. If a nurse was unfamiliar with something or couldn't answer your questions for the most part they would put their pride behind them and ask another nurse for assistance in helping with the task or question. The DON was always there and always had her door open for families etc. to bring and questions or concerns. She was very professional and handled all situations in a timely manner. One thing they did seem to always fall short on was the activities department. For the most part all the residents seemed to just sit around. Many of the activities were un-involved. They did not seem to be planned out nor did there seem to be much participation. They do need to assess this issue and maybe visit another facility and maybe get some ideas on how to improve in the activities department. However, I would recommend this facility to other as a place to help with their relatives needs. "

"My mom stayed at The Homeplace of Henderson. I would highly recommend them. I was very, very pleased. It's an excellent place. The facility was exceptional, very clean, and well-run. They had exceptional management. The food was very good. My mom was quite happy with the place. The activities seemed to be pretty good."

"West River Health Campus is very well-appointed. Their memory care has a new director. She was an employee there before, and she got promoted. They do a lot more things than they did when my husband was there. They go on outings, and they go out to eat. They just do a lot of different activities. The place was clean. The staff was very caring. It was a good place to go. My husband was probably there for six months. They provided three meals a day, and the food was very good. They chopped his food up, which wasn't as appetizing. They would charge a nominal fee, and the family could eat there. I think once a month, they have dinner, and it is for the residents and their families, and that is no charge. We had a slight problem with the director, but it was one of those things. I know how corporations push for the money. She gave me a bill and demanded the money because my husband's Medicare had run out, and we had to pay cash, and she wanted the money right away. That was the only bad thing about it. Everyone was very nice, though. The CNAs were great. They had really beautiful drapes, and the furniture was nice. They have a sunroom and a game room where they have a pool table. They have a Happy Hour on Fridays. Usually, they have somebody playing music, like a guitar or maybe a piano, and they have sing-alongs, things like that. They also have physical exercises where people can sit in chairs and do different stretching exercises. Anyone could participate, even if you are in a wheelchair."

"My mom is at West River Health Campus. We have also decided to try their assisted living there. My mother-in-law was there for a couple of years before she passed, so we had some familiarity with the facility. The other thing is my mom couldn't get over the concept of being on a second floor, and so the one thing that West River had was that they're all on one level. So, she really was attracted to that over some of the other facilities that we looked at. She is still in the rehab wing, and the assisted living room will open up in about a week to two weeks. She is staying in the room that she was in for rehab until that other room opens up. I like the quality of care in the rehab. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The rehab is clean, but a little dated. The decorations appear to be dated. They look like they've been there a while. Everything is clean and well-maintained, but the decorations make it look like it was done maybe in the 1990s. I think the amenities are comparable to the others. They have a good dining room, and they have activities. I think you see those in most places. They all try to attend to those needs, but they provide them for the residents. My mom has been involved in some of their activities. They play bingo, and they have baking demonstrations where they watch you cook, and then they eat the food. They have music and a happy hour, too."

For her, she has medication and shower assistance. She has three meals a day that are cooked for her. They do outings. They clean the room twice a week and do her laundry. They have an art room.
