I toured Brookdale Dodge City and it was very nice. The manager was ready for us. We sat and visited first, and he made out some information for us from what I'd given him before. He explained their facility a little bit, and then we took a tour, and we were able to see two different rooms. One was furnished and then one was unfurnished, so we could see if we brought our mother's furniture and how it would fit. Then we walked back and we met one of the nursing staff and gave her mother's med list to review. We visited a little bit of nursing staff care. It was very good. A very thorough visit because we were there for a little over an hour. So it was great. There was an exercise room and then their activities director, we saw her room, and she already had some projects in place that they would be working on over the next couple of weeks, like getting ready for Easter. We didn't get to sample the food. We were there before lunch, but we did get to see a menu, and if mother couldn't pick or wasn't able to figure it out, there would be somebody to help her choose her meals. So that was good. They have staff that would be able to help my mother when she needs it, like walking with her and doing things.

My mom is at Brookdale Dodge City, and, so far, it has been great. I could not ask for more. She has a studio with a bathroom and a place to put her bed and her furniture, plus a TV with cable. They have a small area where there's a microwave and a small refrigerator and a very large closet area. I am very satisfied with the place. The staff has been great. While I have had a few issues, they have all been corrected.

Sterling House of Dodge City seems to be really home-based; like a home. It's not a hospital room; it is really homey. The staff is very helpful. I love the rooms; they have their own kitchenette, and the bed seems perfect. I like knowing that my friends, who I love dearly, are well taken care of. When I went there to visit, one of my friends was singing psalms, and then they were having some church services.
