My mother went to this facility for rehabilitation after her heart attack. The staff was very accommodating. My mom wasn't too happy about abiding to the rules they have. They made her do exercises and stuff and she wasn't too happy about that. For a nursing home, you couldn't ask for a better nursing home as far as I'm concerned. They allowed me to have lunch with her whenever I was there. The food was decent and adequate. The room was a drawback because it was a smaller room and she had to share it with another gal and I just thought it was awful. What I liked best about the nursing home is they had her recovered and she's doing just great right now. They can improve on a little more personal care. They never seem to keep her on top of the situation and they wouldn't let her go to the cafeteria unless somebody brought her down, she had to wait for somebody to bring her back and she wasn't happy about that. They were slow in responding.

This nursing home is located in a small community where there are very few nursing homes. Because of this, many local organizations volunteer time this center. The local school children do various programs and it seems someone is always there doing a craft or something with the residents. The nursing staff also planned events for the residents regularly. Being a small community, many of the residents already know each other. My grandma, who stayed here for a couple years, enjoyed visiting old friends that also lived there and we were happy to know that she was safe and taken care of at the home. The staff members were mainly locals as well, which was nice for residents and families, because we knew their extended families. The facilities were okay, nothing spectacular. It had a big dining/all purpose room when you first enter and then three wings. I'm not sure how many residents were actually able to reside there. You could request single rooms and double rooms, though, My grandma almost had to share a room at one point because they needed space.

We were pleasantly surprised at the loving care given to our elderly father as he was dying. The staff was kind, went about the physical care aspect without negative comments and one of the staff made this comment, "It is a privelage to care for your father." Our mother is there, also, and she is clean and happy when we go to see her. We are very pleased with our overall experience.
