Independent Living Communities in Osceola, WI

"It was exceptionally friendly. The consultants were amazing. They knew their community. They could answer all of my questions. They are pet-friendly. They have a chef-prepared menu. They have different payment plans that you can include different numbers of meals per month, so you aren't excluded from that. Otherwise, they give you 10 meals a month. They have a 50-pound dog limit, which is pretty generous. Their dining room is open 10 hours a day and you can go in any time and get a meal. They have daily OK checks. It's very nice and it's in a nice little location. It's right next to a grocery store. The prices were a little higher than the other place, but there were different amenities as well. We even had a resident greet us at the door."

"We chose Lindstrom Senior Living for Dad because they had an available bed, and it's close to home. It's very beautiful. Everybody was friendly. The apartments are beautiful. The dining room is beautiful. There's a huge variety of food on their menus. They have music, games, and arts."

"The Ecumen Parmly (Margaret S Parmly) is actually a very wonderful place, very clean, friendly, and nice. They do have assisted living, and we are trying to get my mother in there. She went in there Thursday last week, and the people working there were very friendly. It is very clean and very beautiful. It’s a large facility, but each section has its own wing. They have entertainers that come in, and they have TVs. The atmosphere was very good. The room is not that bad; they have like six people in there and each has plenty of room. She has her own bathroom, TV, a chair, and a table. She gets assistance getting to the wheelchair and then to the bathroom. They come very quickly when she pushes the button, and then the person that comes in would do wound care. They are very good, and they listen to her. "

"I was at The Deerfield for rehab for about two weeks. It was wonderful. I had a pacemaker put in, and they wouldn't let me come home alone, so I had to go there. It was wonderful because they treated everybody like it was a community. We were all together, and it was really nice. They had a speaker come in and speak to us about her painting. She had a lot of beautiful paintings that she did. She came and brought them and showed us how she did them and talked about each picture she brought. It was really nice. We had the meals together like a family meal. You could have four to a table or six. They knew what kind of menu you could have because mine was a no-salt menu. I would see people having something else, like maybe French fries. I was like, "Can I have some of those?" and they said, "No, you can't have them." They kept us to our menu, which was good for us. It worked out very nicely. They took us for exercises every day. They had a beauty shop. They had a little separate deli. It was very clean and very nice. They had a chapel with church services. Different ministers would come in from different churches and speak. It was a really nice community. The staff was great. They were everything we needed. The food was good. They have a slightly different service downstairs, where a lot of the apartments are. Downstairs, they can go in and order their dinner, and they can pretty much have their own menus. Value for money was great because I had rehab activities downstairs every day, and that helped me get back. It was a bicycle thing that I had to ride, and that helped my arm and leg strength. I had to do the stairs. I had to learn how to walk across a bridge, march, and stand in one place. It was worth it. They wouldn't let me come home until I could take care of myself."

"My parents are both living in Amira Choice Forest Lake. They are in the memory care section and it's very nice. They're very good with my mother. They shower her once a week (I usually wash her hair) and help her get her jammies on at night. Then she only has one prescription drug, which they give her in the morning. So, that's about all they do for her as she does a lot of stuff independently. I am happy with the staff. They're good at doing activities. The dining area is very nice, too. Even though they're on the higher end of the pay scale, they're less than the places I've been going to. So, they're fairly reasonable. The only thing I'm concerned about with them is they're reconstructing their pay scale and they're going to have memory care levels and every time the button is pushed, there is going to be a charge for that."

"The Lakes at Stillwater is a beautiful facility. It looks like a lodge out in the woods. They have an area for classes, they have an amphitheater, and they have a fire pit. They have a lot of outdoor spaces. The common areas are cozy and beautiful. They have a restaurant. It was cozy. It looked like a five-star hotel. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, too."

"Croixdale is built kind of in a hillside. A busy highway is on the front side of it, but it's nestled in trees. The back side is a fountain thing built in the yard, and you peer over all this. When you walk in the door, there's a stairway, and it overlooks the backyard. One of the dining rooms is located so they can sit and look out over this patio area. They can even eat their meals outside if they want. They're very much into seeing that the residents are transported to their appointments and shopping. They're really quite good at that. "

"Wonderful! My mother has lived here for 3+ yrs. She has really enjoyed being part of the friendly community. The amenities are great. The facility is warm and comfortable. Feels like home. The staff is fabulous! They honestly care about each resident. They are very proactive in providing the best care. They are also extremely responsive to any needs and concerns. We are so thankful that this is Mom’s home. "

"My uncle was in Boutwells Landing, he was in assisted living. I would give it a five across the board, that place was unbelievable. The facility was very modern, with lots of amenities, very homey, and kind of its little own community. They had a movie theater, a library, a little general store, an arboretum, a nice sunroom that was full of plants, and lots of sun. I was very impressed. They had a little gathering area that, I believe, on Friday afternoons where you could go down and get a drink. It wasn't open all the time, just kind of a social gathering spot. They had little kitchen areas in every section. I believe you can go there and make your own food or they make food for you. I believe my uncle had his meals made. If you have guests there, you can sign up and they make meals for the guests. It was really nice."

"I went to St. Andrews Village. My visit was good. I would probably consider that place if my mom will move up here. It is close to my house, and it has assisted living and memory care all in the same place. They also have a nurse onsite, I think, and they might bring a doctor to visit there too. I like St. Andrews Village a lot. "

"My sister has been living at Briarcliff Manor Apartments for 10 years now. The apartments are very nice. I don't know how old the apartment building is, but she has a 2-bedroom, 2-bath, a den, living room, and a family room. It's a good-sized apartment and very nice with a nice kitchen. I would assume probably the ones across the hall from her are the same, but I don't know how the building is set up. Her apartment is very nice, and it's set up very nicely with her. It's big and has everything you need. They get together for different things. They have a nice community room and a very nice big library. There's a lot of nice things there, and that's why she stayed there so long. The staff has always been good. For some reason, they just have that one person working in the office and that person has changed frequently. I don't know why, maybe pregnancy and that kind of thing comes up. The staff is there, and I think it's just part-time. They have activities for people, like every Friday they have bingo. The person that's in the office is basically in charge of what goes on in the community and stuff. They have bake sales even. It's basically just an apartment house. They don't do many activities there. What they do is newsletters and little things attached to their doors. They all get the same letter of what's going to happen this week. The area is nice. There are lots of walking places around there. It's close to the church, right across the street. It's also close to the regional library, which is also across the street. There are stores nearby and a holiday gas station right next to it. My sister gets her cash when she needs it. Maybe a half a mile or something away from bigger shopping center,s but she has what she needs right there. I don't think she would have lived there this long if it wasn't really a nice place to live."

"My friends really like the Wintergreen Apartments. They have many activities, good meals, a place for physical therapy, a gym, and transportation a few times a week for people who are in the independent living. They have different activities throughout the year. The homes are all connected, so you can go from one to the other, and the senior center is located in that complex. They have movies and churches. The place is one of the nicest ones around here. "
