"My sister-in-law moved to The Heartlands. What I like best is they really worked with me. I had them over from Ohio to Michigan, and they were really very helpful in helping me understand what needs to happen, and how it needs to go. They were very upfront and direct about what they needed and it was really good. Usually, they do an initial assessment in person, but because she was in assisted living in Ohio, they did a Zoom call with her. I was impressed by their customer service. Her apartment is fairly new. The whole place is only two years old. It's great. I would call it about a room and a half. They have all kinds of things that they work with, what they need, and what they can do. They have a cook on site and she's the head of the kitchen. My sister-in-law has been very impressed with the food. They try to get you moving as much as you can. They're trying to get her as capable as she can be without pushing her too hard, so that's been good, too. She could eat all the food some days. So it's good food inside. They have an activity director there that is really active."

"I had a relative and dear family friend stay here. What a beautiful home! The staff is very knowledgeable and caring! It’s such a comfortable and safe place. We loved the owners, they are very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. My family member was treated like they were their own family members. The bedroom she had was beautiful with a small koi pond under her window. The interaction with the other residents is priceless! Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone!"

"The Village of Lake Huron Woods is very, very nice. They have their own bus. They were friendly, compassionate, and caring. They make sure that you just don't sit in your apartment all day and that you go out and take part in their activities. Also, if you're not up to cooking any of your meals, you can go down to the dining room, and they will make a full, beautiful, good meal. They had someone come in and play the piano. They were warm, very hospitable, and welcoming. They made sure you also had a good time while you were there. We had a dessert. You could have coffee or tea, too. It was homey. The place was very well kept and clean."

"Lake Huron Woods is very nice, quiet, and very peaceful. I like the location. Inside, it is quite beautiful. The dining room looks like a beautiful 4-star restaurant. It was my birthday when I went there and the chef made me a lemon meringue pie to take home, which was really nice."

"We toured Mercy Village. The facility is very, very clean and large. The administrator that showed us around was very polite. I think her name was Jan. She took time with us, sat down, and answered all our questions. She told us about the facility and how great the place was. They have no shortage of workers there like most places do now. She said that speaks to the staffing and that the management is good. We walked around and looked at some of the rooms. The rooms were nice and clean. They have quite the menu for the seniors. They have a large dining hall, and then they have a smaller one if they prefer a smaller room. We talked to some of the seniors. They were playing cards. They have an outdoor area for them. They have an activities calendar. It's nice. We stayed there for almost an hour just walking and talking about it. It's a really nice place. I wasn't able to try the food, but they have quite a variety. They have three choices. Not everyone eats the same things. They have quite the menu to choose from. They can come to the dining room and eat, or they can have them bring it to their room and eat it. Most of the time, they try and get them to come out to the dining room but if they want to stay in their room, they will bring their meals to them. They have an activities room, they have a theater on the third floor, and they have elevators. They have card tables if they want to play. A lot of them like to play cards after dinner. They have a piano, so if some of them would like to play the piano, they can feel free to go play that. They have two shuttles and they will shuttle them anywhere they want to go and pick them up on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is a nice option. They have a little snack room where they can purchase like if they want a snack, a candy bar, or a can of pop, they can do that as well. They have a barbershop and a small beauty salon if they want a haircut or hairdo. For the short time that I was there, I did not see anything that I didn't like. As we passed the staff, they say, 'have a good evening,' and 'hi, how are you?' Everybody was friendly."
