My mom has moved into Porthaven Manor. The move-in experience has been fairly good. There are pretty much no hitches, and everything is good. We have never even looked at another one. They had a first floor availability. It had its own door to the outside on the patio, and they allow pets. So far, so good. The staff members who I interacted with were fine. The best part about the facility is that she has her own patio door. You don't have to walk through the whole facility to go see her. The place is clean. They have activities, but they're limited right now due to Covid.

I will move into Porthaven Manor. The room and the view are beautiful. It's just humongous. The lady who runs it, Christina, was just a sweet lady. They have a TV room for men for Monday night football. You could have tournaments for groups. It's a very good place. A lot is going on there. The facility was gorgeous and clean. The rooms are newly painted and all new carpeting. Everything is new.

I went to Porthaven Manor. It's very pleasant and kind of open, yet it's kind of secluded, too. So it's really a nice facility. The staff was very friendly and nice. The dining area was set up nice.

We went to Porthaven Manor. It was extremely nice. The woman who helped us was very helpful and very polite. The amenities seemed to be there. For my mom, it had everything that she needed. Plus, it was the only place that you could smoke inside, which was huge for my mom, and that's her main thing. That was the only place that we could find that was assisted living where you could smoke inside, but she still wasn't a fan of it. Everybody seemed extremely nice and very helpful. I saw the dining area, it was nice, but I did not try their meals. They had some of the entertainment and stuff upstairs, and the downstairs was nice. They had a little courtyard area outside, which was nice.

My grandmother will be moving into Porthaven Manor. It's affordable and it's a nice facility. The staff was really friendly. It was clean. They had a theater, a laundry facility, and free cheesecake for everyone. We all sat with our family and ate cheesecake with my grandmother. They had arts and crafts, a library, and a little convenience store in there. It's a nice little community. It seems close-knit and very friendly. They have little barbecues on the patio for the residents, and they have cooks come and prepare meals.

Porthaven Manor seemed like it was in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. The grounds were, I believe, quite suitable. The thing we liked about it most was, well, not most, but a good part of it was the fact that it has either little patios or balconies that the residents have in every room. They have that possibility to sit outside and read in their own privacy. There were areas in the grounds where there were benches, chairs, and things like that. They can go and sit outside, or read, or chat, or walk. We quite liked that part of it. There was a walking track all the way around the facility that accommodates walkers and wheelchairs. The dining area could be improved. It looked more like a cafeteria as opposed to a dining room. The staff seemed super friendly. They knew everybody's names. They kept asking us, "Is there anything else we can answer for you?", they were really open and trying to make sure that we had every little detail that they thought was necessary, and we thought was necessary. There were no misanswered questions.

We had a wonderful tour of Porthaven Manor. We are now in the process of moving my mom there because it's a very nice place and they have plenty of services that they offer. It's very clean, the staff is wonderful, and I was astonished by the size of the rooms. I thought the apartments I would be looking at were smaller, but they were of wonderful size. They're also very well kept, and they painted and cleaned the carpets before my mom moved in as well. Right now, because of COVID, they are taking the food into the residents' room. They have a little movie theater, they do crafts, they have a card room, and a library. If any resident wants to have a family party, birthday party, or something for the holidays, they can let the staff know so they can have access to one of the bigger rooms and entertain the family that way. They also take them out on day trips. There's a lot that they offer that I was really impressed with. The facility seems wonderful.

Porthaven Manor was very, very nice, and the staff was very, very accommodating, too. I don't have anything else bad to say about it. The facility was very inviting, warm, and clean. It's good, it's just not the kind of thing I'm looking for. The room I saw could fit one or two people very nicely. They also have all kinds of activities, like playing cards and games, doing crafts, and watching movies. It was on a very quiet, nice street, so the location was good.

We viewed Porthaven Manor in person. They have a stove and refrigerator, but to me we kind of get the feeling that it wasn't that homey, it was more hotel-room, or not even apartment type living. It's very up to date, the amenities, it was very clean, and everything looked respectable with regards to the overall condition of the building, the hallways, and the staff. The staff was really letting us be on our own, was very suggestive, and helpful, but we just didn't get the connection that she really wanted to have dad there. The food was catered as opposed to staff on premises cooking, the caterer that does the food is very good, but like with all catered food, by the time you get it, it might not be very hot anymore.

Porthaven Manor is pretty nice. It's all inside and the residents all get their own little apartments. I was really impressed. They were fairly small apartments, but the community itself is pretty big and kept up nice. They have common areas and it seemed like they had a lot for the people to do. You have your own apartment, but you also get as much help as you want. There were lots of people gathering and doing their stuff. They had a quilting club for women, they have a billiards room, and it just seemed like a pretty good community. They were all together and interacting like a senior gang; it seemed kind of cool. It was a pretty good-sized community.

I'm enjoying Porthaven Manor. Everybody who I've talked to has been absolutely wonderful, nice, and very helpful, so I'm really happy about the staff. They do laundry and serve one meal a day, but I mainly do my own cooking. The place is very clean. The value is very good.

Porthaven Manor is a three-story apartment building. The residents and staff were great. They certainly have enough facilities and things going in. They're also within walking distance of a lot of things, particularly the theater and the shopping mall. However, I didn't see any difference between that and plain apartment living. You go up in an elevator and you walk down a hotel room corridor with rooms on the sides. It has a little colder feeling, so it's a good thing the people are very friendly, which made me feel comfortable. They have comparable amenities. I think people would be happy living there.

I have lived at Porthaven Manor for almost 2 years. From the first day I moved in I have felt comfortable, welcomed and safe. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Many of the residents have gone out of their way to make me feel welcome and at home. The facility is nicely maintained and easily navigated. I have found the cost of the apartments is very reasonable. I would recommend Porthaven to any single or married seniors desiring a comfortable and fun place to live.
