"I stayed in Holiday Hartland Hills for respite. I liked that you didn't have to worry about people coming into your room, like in a nursing home-type atmosphere, where you might have to. You could leave your door unlocked, and it was safe. I liked the dining room. It was a nice dining room. I'm in a studio, and it has a small number of kitchen cupboards in it, a small sink, and a nice mid-sized refrigerator. It had room for, say, a dishwasher hookup or another appliance to fit in there. They included three meals a day. I'm a food snob. I like organic food, fresh food, fresh salads, and stuff like that. They tried really hard. Their meals were good, but I really wanted fresh food, something with fiber. It was a lot of processed food that I just wasn't used to, but they did nice meals. I mean, it was just within limits. There were no bad smells or anything like that. It was very clean and fresh-smelling. They always had activities going on. They had some entertainment, probably once every two weeks. They had book clubs. They had things like bocce ball. They had meetings, and if someone was a Christian and wanted a Bible study or a book study, they had that. There was always something to do. They had a really great activities director who did a good job. I have compared the prices to those in the Ohio area, and you get good stuff for your money."

"I visited the assisted living facility of Bridgepointe at Ashgrove Woods for my wife. The things I liked about it were that the staff seemed very nice. I also talked to some people who lived there, and they said they're completely content and it's a new turnaround for them. They had great food and all kinds of activities going on. It was probably three to four thousand dollars less monthly compared to others. It's also right here by my house, and I could walk there if I wanted to. It's that close. The room was like a studio suite and bigger than a hotel room. They also do your laundry and change your sheets once a week. What I didn't like was that there was no furniture in the place. Other than that, everything I asked, they answered immediately. They showed me around, and it was very good. It was very clean, and everywhere I went, there was someone cleaning or doing some kind of task. They have their own chef, too, and they get three meals a day, every day. I was happy with it."

"We toured Highgrove at Tates Creek. I really liked it. She showed us the apartments my mom and dad would live in. I liked the way it was set up and everything. She showed us the dining area and all of that. It just seemed like a very nice place. I didn't want to visit any other places because I just felt like she made me feel really comfortable, and that they would take care of our parents. So, I was happy with everything. I took a video with a video phone, so I shared the video with my other siblings, and everybody liked it. I even talked to my mom, and she liked it too. The atmosphere was very nice, and that's what I liked about it."

"My mother lived in the memory care community. While there she received compassionate, person-centered care from the entire team. The caregivers treated her like family and took her preferences into account. The life enrichment team provided her opportunities to express herself and have fun each day. I would recommend this community to anyone searching for care for their loved one."

"I checked out Legacy Reserve at Fritz. I give it fives across the board. It's got lots of activities, an indoor pool, and a wonderful meal plan. It has a great atmosphere. They're not connected, but they're right next door to a nursing facility. So, relative to being able to get most services I would need, it's a great location. Their apartments are nice. Every one of them has a patio or a balcony and plenty of room. The staff was very nice, and I got to meet a lot of people. They have a pretty good sales gimmick. They're one of the ones that charge to get on the waiting list, but when you pay that and get on the waiting list, you can go every month. They'll invite you to an event. You can have a meal during your waiting period and get familiar with the place. I've just seen the menu. They have different restaurants and you get two meals a day and you can pick which one you want to go to. The different restaurants have different categories of food. It's nice. They have great facilities. They have two pianos in the hallways. They have an arts and crafts room, exercise room, and a dog park. You can bring your pet. It's very well run, very nice, presents well, and beautiful, but it is the most expensive on my list."
