"The Village is a fantastic facility. The rooms are adequate in size, well-insulated for air conditioning, heat, and sound. Although I have come to expect it from other facilities, there was no discernible smell of sickness or hygiene. The staff were all friendly, and seemed familiar with all the residents. There is a community board towards the front of the lobby that holds all the birthdays of residents, as well as a map with little pins in it indicating where everyone is from. I noticed that there are a lot of what we would refer to as 'snowbirds' here in Florida; that is people from very northern states and Canada. The elevators were easy to access, and everyone seemed genuinely happy to be doing whatever it is they were doing at the time. I noticed there is a salon for the ladies as well as a room with comfy looking couches and televisions labeled the 'Man Cave' where I assume the gentlemen gather to watch sporting events. All in all, I really enjoyed my visit to the Villages and it is definitely a contender on the list of places I will bring my grandparents to consider living at. "

"Plantation Oaks is very welcoming and the residents were very approachable and out and about instead of being stuckin their rooms. The leadership is very responsive and accommodating and listened very well. My friend moved into their assisted living. They also have memory care. My friends impression of the food is Southern style; shes not as accustomed to it, but the food is fine. They have an activity room for painting, cards, and puzzles. They have a TV room for watching movies together with a large selection of different kinds of movies. They have church groups and some local people bringing in religious activities. They also have bingo. The building looks nice and well cared for."

"I am staying in Pine Grove Apartments in Gainesville. I mainly like the area of town because it's close to shopping and to my doctor's office. I have an electric wheelchair, and I can ride it to just about everything I need. It's that close by. I have a studio, and I love it. It's fine for me because I don't want a big space. It's independent living, so the tenants themselves do the activities and stuff themselves. They provide us with help, but not activity-type things. We do that within the group of people who live here. We have arts and crafts, different activities, bingo, and game day. It's also on a little lake where you can go fishing, so it is really a nice residence. We also do our own food. There's a library, and we have our own private gardens. We're assigned to a garden space where we can grow vegetables, flowers, or whatever we want to grow outside. They pay the first $95 of your electric bill, and the Wi-Fi is free. We have the internet for free. The staff's fine, and the place is clean. I think the value for money is very fair. They have a free emergency alert button that they give each resident. It doesn't cost us anything. In case we fall or something, there's a doctor who comes in. You can sign up with the doctor, and he comes to your apartment. You don't have to go out to him if you don't want to, which is a good thing. There's also a veterinarian and a barber who comes here. They cover just about all your needs."
