"My Mom and Dad moved here this year after they both had double pneumonia. They left a home where they had lived for 30 years. My Dad said he felt like he was finally living in his golden years. My mom loves it because she doesn't have to cook, clean and do laundry. The staff from the cleaning ladies to the administrator are the best in the world. They take excellent care of my parents. They have their very own 2 bedroom apt. everything is handicap accessible. I have even been able to stay the night with them. I would highly recommend the Kensington to any and all. "

"I would recommend Heartland of Galesburg to anyone need skilled nursing. I was in real bad shape when I arrived but with the help of the nurses and therapy I am up walking independently, eating, and enjoying life. The care is wonderful here and the staff is very attentive. Of course like most people I have favorites but the staff are truly caring. The therapy was the best I have ever seen. I received therapy services every day and they knew what I needed to be able to do to get back home. They created a plan that was specific to my needs and my capabilities and continued to raise the bar for me to get me to the point I needed for home. "

"My father has been in the Alzheimer's unit for about 3 years. We rotate daily visits so we can stay on top of his care. My mother was in an Alzheimer's unit elsewhere, and we have visited others, so I am familiar with local units. I am pleased with his care. The older, longtime staff members are attentive and caring to patients. The unit and his room is always clean, something I'm a stickler about. My only complaint is that some young healthcare workers who are just starting out don't seem to really care about patients. I see that at most nursing homes I have visited. I wish they would learn more about empathy from longtime healthcare workers."

"Seminary Village was a very nice facility. All amenities were included (including the meals), and it's very clean and very affordable. They have a studio, a one-bedroom, and two-bedroom homes. Maintenance was excellent, too. It's very clean. The lady who toured us was very nice and very informative. The food was delicious. They gave us lunch in their nice-looking dining room and there's always drinks and fruits available. You go through a line, tell them what you want, and they bring it to your table. It's very nice. They clean your apartment, change your linens for you and wash them, but there's a free laundry area as well. There's also an exercise room, a beauty salon on the premises (haircuts were only $14), a chapel, and a library. They have get-togethers, parties/celebrations, and they go out twice a week to take you shopping or to eat. Everything for a flat fee. You can have a dog and a cat under 10 pounds and covered parking for extra."

"The Knox County Nursing Home staff interacts well with residents and their families. There are activities and outings for the residents to enjoy. Many visitors frequent the nursing home to provide entertainment for the residents. The facility itself is nicely decorated and the rooms are nicely sized. It also has a large dining area. Knox County Nursing Home is a rather large facility compared to other facilities in the area. It has an incredibly large yard and sits at the edge of town away from traffic in a very peaceful spot.The bad news about this facility is that the staff to resident ratio does not allow much individual time with the residents. This hinders the ability of available staff to provide attentive and proper care to the residents. This may direclty relate to Knox County Nursing home having had multiple deficiencies in 2011. A total of 16 deficiencies ranging from "potential for minimal harm" to "actual harm" were cited. There is one other rather disturbing fact about this nursing home. It happens to sit directly across the street from a cemetary. This may not be the best inspiration to the residents of the facility. "

"My parents are in Rosebush Gardens Assisted Living and they are very happy there. Even though my dad is resistant, he really likes it there. I think the staff is very caring, very friendly and everything has been just great. Actually, the reason why we choose Rosebush is because the apartments are larger than the other two we visited, and they are kept very clean and are in very good condition. I have one meal there, but my dad never misses the meal. He likes the cooking and he is gaining weight actually. "

"This is the best place to live when you cant be at home on your own anymore. The staff are always wanting to make your stay here feels like home as best as they can, giving lots of things to do and choices for food. The therapy staff is making sure that everyone stays active. I was in the rehab area first and then moved to long term care. I think they have a very good program and would recommend coming here for short term rehab and if you cant go home, staying is the next best option. "
