ALIYA of Palos Park is the place where my mom is staying. The people that work there seem very attentive and very accommodating. The food doesn't look so great though. It seems well-maintained and clean. I saw people mopping the floor and the sweeper come through and sweep the floors. It seems like they have a really good maintenance schedule for cleanliness. It seems like the staff is on top of it. They have a little ice cream bar set up for them, and one day I saw them playing bingo. they have some activities and group activities. The nursing staff and patients were out and about. Whether the patients are in wheelchairs or a walker or whenever there seems to be an activity. We have a shared room, but they have a roommate, so the rooms are not super big. When family members are there, there is a dining room area that we could go to to spread out. The rooms are adequate in size, but if you have a lot of family visitors, you would want to spread out in the living or dining area.

Very disappointed in the facility. It was great when it was Holy Family and Religious women worked there. It has really gone downhill since becoming symphony. I am looking for a new facility. It is no longer as clean, the nurses hang around the station chatting with each other when residents are screaming for help, and the food leaves a lot to be desired. I had to interrupt the nursing staff hen fest to get them to reposition a patient who was screaming in pain and all twisted in his wheelchair. Unacceptable! They serve crusty hard to cut pieces of breaded chicken (mostly breading) that is too difficult for the residents to cut so they don's eat as much. No longer impressed and residents are not getting what they are paying for. They need supervisors who know what the staff is doing and not doing, and nurses who care. So sad.

My mom is at Symphony Palos Park and she's doing very well. They've done a great job taking care of her, adapting to her needs, and listening to her. I'm able to go there every day on my way to work and back, and they're always very welcoming. If anything happens, minor even, they call me right away and let me know. She's in a nice sized room. She does have a roommate, but the rooms are kind of askew. If you walk in, there's a bed to the left and then you go forward a little and then another bed to the right. So they're kind of separated like an L-shape, which is nice. And they have curtains between them. Each one has her own window and then they share a bathroom. They do have private rooms, but we opted for a double room. I think the food is average. I wouldn't say it's great, but there's not a lot of complaints. They do have a lot of activities. They have ice cream socials every Wednesday at 2 o'clock and they're yummy. They have arts and crafts. She was formally named Holy Family. It was a Catholic facility. So there's a church inside, which is great. My mother can go to mass every day. We went this morning for Sunday mass. Right now, they have people coming and doing holiday workshops, if people want to buy gifts or things. They tried to get everybody out. They did trick or treating for Halloween. They brought kids in and gave the residents candies that they could hand out, and they gave each one of them. My mom included little gifts for the kids. It can be religious based, let's put it that way. But you don't have to be a Christian to be there. But if it's something you're looking for, they do have daily prayer services. They do have a nun that comes around and will give you communion if you cannot go to the mass or they have a feed on the TV. So there's a lot of religious statues. It's very roomy, there's a lot of space. The outdoor grounds sit on many, many acres, so you're not in a city situation at all. I like that because you can go outside and walk for a long time. I was taught to look for or watch out for many problems and I haven't really run into that. So I would say they do a very good job. My mom's been there for several months now and she's doing better since she's been there. Some of the staff are very good, some not as good. But overall, I think it's a very good facility.

My mom was in Holy Family Villa. She got very good care. The staff was attentive to her needs. The place was clean. You hear some things about nursing homes where they're not very sanitary or kept up, but this was a very, very clean facility. The people seemed to be caring for their residents. No complaints at all. They were very professional. No type of negative attitude in dealing with them and in speaking with family members. They have a chapel, and they have a couple of areas where the residents can come out of their respective rooms and watch TV. I was satisfied with their services.

Have had my mother there for over 1 1/2 years. Place is immaculate. Staff are professional--courteous--outgoing--caring--at all levels. Very communicative of any issues, such as changes in eating patterns, overall health changes, general facility matters including a phone call I remember receiving re "potential" of scabies which was later proven to be unfounded and never occurred. No safer or better place to put loved ones should such become necessary.

Holy Family has exhibited a pattern of neglect and disregard for my father. He was taken to Holy Family on Jan 10. On Jan 11 my brother found my father face down in his wheelchair. On Jan 13 I found him sitting alone in the dining area. He complained that his back and hip were sore and he wanted to lay down. This morning (Jan15) my wife and I found my dad bent over in his wheelchair with his face against the dining table. He was in obvious distress. Two HF employees were sitting at the adjacent table doing nothing. When I asked the nurse why my father was in such condition she said, "I was watching him". Since the nurse was non-responsive I asked to see a supervisor. I was told the supervisor was in church so I'd have to wait 40 minutes until mass ended. Each HF employee at every level displayed complete disregard for my father. I've attempted to reach management level staff, but they are unavailable. They are aware of my dad's situation but do not appear motivated to contact me.

We chose Holy Family Villa because of the availability of skilled nursing and its convenient location for my sisters and me to visit our aunt. The staff has been very helpful and seems caring and interested. They are a Catholic institution, so they present a Catholic mass on a daily basis. They have other activities like ice cream socials, movies every day, and a gym for physical therapy. They have lovely grounds, and all the rooms have windows.

Holy Family Villa is a very impressive facility. They have a very large staff. The people are very kind and the facility is very clean. I tasted the food and it was good. It is run by the Catholic Church so it fits my sister well. I would absolutely recommend this facility. The level of care and the level of staffing is commendable.

Holy Family is lovely, very well kept, very clean, and very calming. It is a Roman Catholic facility, but they will take any denomination. I know a lot of my friends will go there.

My dad is in a nursing home because he is not qualified to live in an assisted living, as he is not ambulatory at all. He has been in Holy Family Village for a month now. They are fantastic and top of the line. They are feeding him. They are checking him every two hours. They give him oxygen when he needs it. They get him up and take him to the bathroom. They are taking care of all of his needs.

My Mom was a resident at Holy Family Villa for almost 3 years. She was well treated by caring staff. We were very happy with her care.
