My grandma has been living in this facility for about 4 years now. I visit her twice a week, sometimes three, several times even one. I am close to my grandmother. I am sometimes excited to visit her and sometimes not. She really doesn't like it there. However, myself or none of my family members are qualified to take care of her. The facility is beautiful. Her room is nice, not plain, but not elegant. It's peaceful. They have scheduled activities, a nice kitchen and dining area, and a dayroom for activities. They also have rooms for activities, like exercise classes for the able-bodied. The nurses are very efficient. Rooms checks, medicines are always prompt. They are very busy so they don't spend a little extra time socializing with residents. It's sad for those who don't have visitors. Some just sit in the day lonely. However, they have some volunteers. A lot of the nurses are students from the college which is a part of their class. So basically the nurses and staff do their job only. All in all, if you want good care, Life Care Center is good, however, if you want that extra warmth and "Aloha," it's probably not the best, most cheerful place.
