I was taken in by Hale Anuenue after a post-op complication and stayed there for 3 weeks, 2 of them in strict quarantine. I needed a lot of help and got it. Even in lockdown, with staff wearing full gowns, with us patients confined to our rooms, the staff made big efforts to keep us cheerful. The staff was kind to all residents. The schedule was well-coordinated with regular showers, daily PT and occupational therapy, and healthy meals. It was a very difficult time because of covid but they kept things going, and I'm very grateful they took me in.

My friend is a resident. Today she had her first shower in TEN DAYS. The staff is nice, but completely overworked. A CNA is not qualified to do physical therapy. Seeing their own physicians is frowned upon.

The minute you walk in there the decor reminds you more of a hotel, but you are surrounded by beautiful garden. The staff are a cut above, watching carefully and being sure nothing goes wrong. The therapy is superb and tailored to the individual. Finally, their goal is restorative. I hope I end up there some day.
