My friend is at Radiance of Gainesville. She is doing great. So far, it has been great. They were the only ones who would take her. The hospital had her so over-medicated that she could not do the 'stand, pivot, or transfer.' After three weeks of her being over-medicated and three or four other facilities going, she could not complete the task. However, Radiance went, and that one particular morning, she could complete the task, so that's where she went, and I've been very, very happy. The food is good. The staff is exceptional. They really know how to take care of people with memory issues. I've worked several times with the staff, and anytime I've asked them for help (Like if my friend needs to go to the bathroom), all I have to do is go and tell them. They go wherever we are. They get her into the bathroom so that she can do what she needs to do. They don't leave them in their rooms. They take them out. They have a big activity room. Of course, they're all in different stages of mental decline, so some of them are sitting at the table, just sitting there doing nothing, and some are sitting there doing activities. I like the fact that if they are able to sit in their wheelchair, they take them out. They have that stimulation of other voices and other activities going on, whether they can partake in them or not. The staff members are great. When they're in this group setting, all of the attendants are there with the residents. They're not off in a corner somewhere on their phone. I like that. Food is good, too. The chef during the weekdays is really good. They are right there at the top of the list. The furnishings are relatively new. It's a great facility. They have a huge central hub, and there is a kitchen there. They have two dining halls. One is for those who can eat for themselves, and the other is for those who need assistance. I like the fact that they have plenty of help. They have an outdoor area also. It's probably 50 by 50. There are chairs and a screened-in porch that they can sit on. There are benches inside. It's all open, and it's got a sunroof, so you get all this great natural light. To me, that is important. It is very, very bright. As for activities, they have people come in with animals. You are allowed to bring your pet there, which is great. They have a guy and a girl there playing music, and they have arts. Value for money is pretty good.

I toured and it was great. I like everything about it. I was impressed with every aspect of it, which is why I chose it. The staff was very pleasant, gave wonderful information, and was very receptive to my questions. I picked this particular place because of the space and compared to some of the other places, the room was larger. They were very nice. I'm sure that if my mom decides to participate, she will enjoy what they offer.

My dad has moved into here. It's a very nice facility. It's more like a home versus a nursing home. Caring people. It's a true lockdown facility. The meals are better than the other place was. The staff is much more caring. They've gotten to know my dad in the short amount of time he's been there. So far, it's been good. My dad doesn't have a roommate; they're in their own room. There's a lot of positives.
