"The Holmstad was excellent and great. The people were wonderful and informative. It was all good, but it’s not going to work right now for my mother. There’s apartments, memory center, and infirmary living situations. There were two or three dining rooms: one was restaurant-style and one was buffet. If my mother is going to live some place, it would be there. "

"The staff was very nice and introduced us to everybody. It was a really thorough meeting. We toured the facility. We had lunch there, and it was very good. It was very nicely served to us. They had a nice dining facility. My sister and I loved Grand Victorian of Rockford. We would've moved in in a heartbeat. It was great. The rooms were not real large, but certainly accommodating. They could have bigger closets, but other than that, they were very nice and very clean. It seemed like a very active place; people were coming and going and golfing. "

"Oak Crest is a very good place. It's the best in the area and it's also the most expensive. It cost a lot. The initial fee that you're paying in is pretty expensive. But there's no doubt about it, it's the best. Usually the most expensive is the best. That's just the way it works. The staff is very good. They're outstanding. "

"Peterson Meadows is just independent living, but it's affiliated with a much larger continuing care community. It's just a comfortable and pleasant place to live. Everything is just so easy for the residents and the staff members are excellent. They're polite, helpful, well-informed and well-trained, and they go out of their way to make this place a pleasant place for us. The food is also excellent and they have a number of activities like card games, other games, line dancing, and so on if people are interested. The layout and cleanliness of the place is very good, and we have everything we need in terms of activities. This is probably the lowest-priced independent living community in the area, so in my opinion it's the best."

"They were very nice. I love the feeling of the people and the residents in that facility. Everybody was so kind, and there was definitely a Christian feel. They were openhearted, very accepting, and very loving. I love Fairhaven for that reason. I thought my mother would really love it, her being a very strong fundamental Christian woman. However, for her level of care, she is orthopedically a mess, but cognitively OK, and that's very difficult. When you're in a nursing home care, many times there's dementia or Alzheimer's; there's not a lot of cognitive stimulation, and my mom needs that. They can meet her needs physically, but residentially I'm not sure if it's the best fit for my mom. It's a little bit of a larger facility with great people, but she would be in a room in a hospital ward, and she wouldn't like it; she'd be miserable. Also sometimes, it's difficult to have a staff available to take you from the hospital ward to where the cognitively stimulating people are. It's not going to be realistic. "

"We choose Windsor Park Manor because we like everything about it and it is close. It is very nice and clean. The staff is very good. My mom's room is spacious enough and my mom enjoys the food. They have activities. However, my mom is not involved with them yet. "
