"My wife is at Good Shepherd Community-Sauk Rapids and it has been a very good experience. People are very friendly and very caring. They visit with you like one of their own. They want to help you as much as they can. It's a very nice place and it's very clean. It's freshly painted. It has nice carpet on the floor. It's well-kept and really in good shape."

"The rooms at Serenity Place on 7th were nice, but the cabinets were a bit dated. The place looked clean. They were having some activities going on when we toured it. They had a library and a little activity room where residents could do crafts and bingo."

"I liked it because it was close to our residence right now. It would only take half a minute to get to it. So, I liked the location for myself and access. So, that part was okay. The part that I didn't like was that there wasn't any direction to the main entrance. I pulled into the parking lot and walked the whole perimeter of it before I was able to locate the main door. So, that was a bit confusing. That was the second thing. Otherwise, if I'm looking just for my husband, it would be adequate. But living conditions for myself or together, no it wouldn't. As far as the person who gave the tour, experience-wise she was kind of confused as to what floor we were on and what room number. So either she was new or she just hadn't walked the floors enough to familiarize herself with the building layout. The facility is old. I'm not sure of the age of it. I had inquired if it was at one time an apartment building and converted into single dwellings. She didn't think it was only because there were no kitchen areas. It was kind of like a hotel or a motel, very simply, a closet, a sliding door around the bathroom, and I didn't care for the carpets in the areas."

"The main thing that struck me was that Cherrywood Advanced Living seems to have a very open area for people to sit and chat and help somebody make dinner, or make a meal for themselves if they want. The kitchen, living, and social area are kind of all-in-one. People eat in a family environment where there's a long table, and people just sit down and eat. If you want to eat later in the morning, you sure can. There are in-houses or community areas, so that there are 12 people per house. It's just very comfortable-looking between the fireplace, and the carpet, and the chairs. The rooms are just one big space, but they're large, so I think that would be appealing to some people. It's in a neighborhood, so that is nice. They seemed very caring when they talked about things that people would like, and that they try to respond to. The staff was new, and one of them said that one of her goals on being hired was to add more social activities for people. I was really very impressed with it. We were considering that place, but the distance was too far. You can have your hair done there. People come in regularly to cut hair, and for shaving. There's a little party room, and if somebody is having a family gathering, they can use that space. There is a sauna whirlpool room, and that is quite popular. "

"We toured Country Manor Campus. The people were very cordial about taking us around and showing us the place. We had a lovely time there. Their restaurant is a public restaurant, so it is different. The public eats there as well. We were in the part that was independent living, and they had some nice big units, which we were interested in. It's a lovely place, and the people are coming and going. They have a shop there where you can buy just about anything you want. There are different sections that are spread out, which is kind of nice. Walking outside would be pleasant; you're not walking around in traffic. It's more like out in the country. There are other stuff around, but it's not as congested. We like that part of it, too. The place is clean, neat, and maintained. When you converse with people who live there, you get a feeling that they're happy and content."

"I wasn't impressed with Wildwood Assisted Living. For one thing, when we walked in there, it smelled like pee. I didn't see an elevator. So, how did these people in wheelchairs get from the first floor to the second floor? The rooms were small. The staff who assisted us during the tour was nice."

"St. Cloud Benedict Court is a very good place and I'm very happy with them. My dad likes it there, he's happy and he wants to stay there even for the winter months. The staff is very good and very kind. The maintenance, the cleaning people, and the people bringing the meals are all top-notch. The room that dad has is very nice for him and he likes it. The bathroom is very close by to him. He's got a good view and his bird feeders are out front. He has a studio room with a living room, a kitchen and dining area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. They have bingo, counseling, music, and bus rides."

"My father is at St. Benedicts Senior Community. It is very clean. There's a lot of good care. Everyone has been very kind and informative. They're very friendly and professional. I have not tried their lunch, but my father says that the meals are good. They have a calendar of activities. He does not participate, but that's just his personality. They have movie nights. They had a violinist come in. They have bingo. They have a little keyboard set up. They had a guitarist that came through. The place is up-to-date. The rooms are clean. They're better than I've seen at some of the other places I've toured."

"My mother liked Summit Ridge Place, and I guess that's the most important thing. It's small, and she likes that part of it. It's an older building, but the living room area and the kitchen area all seem kept up nicely. The staff who gave the tour was good. And he answered all the questions. We got a menu from them, and it looked like they had good meals. The staff said that the person who cooked the meals was in culinary school. The dining area is small but it looked clean. There's a nice patio out in the back. It's fall, so there are leaves all over the place, but they have a nice cement slab and then some grassy areas. It was nice. It was kind of secluded though."

"The Sanctuary at St. Cloud was excellent. They have beautiful rooms. It's a new building. I'm extremely pleased. They only have assisted living and memory care, and I'm amazed that a memory care place can be as lovely as that. The people really know their business and give you the information that you need. The service provided is wonderful. They can choose their meals so not everybody is eating the same thing. They have two dining rooms, so they don't have a large crowd of people in one. They have a very fine activities director, she is full of life, and she has volunteers who assist her. The staff is excellent, and they have nurses and CNAs, so the care seems very fine. My sister likes it very much. It's beautiful and very appropriate. I have no complaints."

"My parents will be moving in. They've already rented an assisted living apartment. I know the building is not new, but it appeared to be new, very clean, and homelike. It had very comfortable seating scattered throughout the hallways and corners. I couldn't have looked for a nicer place. The staff couldn't have been better. They were knowledgeable and welcoming. We were shown their activity schedule, and they also showed us different areas of the campus where they do activities. It's an excellent schedule. We checked their dining room, and we viewed several of the apartments, the exercise room, the activity room, and the family party room, and we found nothing negative at all. After they saw this, they didn't want to look anywhere else. It was everything we were looking for."
