"I went to Sierra Vista Independent & Assisted Living. The staff was very helpful. She gave me a very nice tour. They had some detached two duplexes, which I thought would work out very well for my stepbrother, but I would not call it a good neighborhood at all. Right across the street was a mobile home park. There was a gentleman out on the road working on a ratty old motor home with music blaring, and I just did not feel that would be a neighborhood to put my stepbrother. The meals were provided there. They had laundry rooms, an exercise room, and a game room."

"I toured Green Tree Residence LLC. The best thing I liked was that it was clean, and the patient looked happy. The staff was very nice and friendly, and they answered all my questions. The room size was okay."

"Knolls West Convalescent Hospital was nice, our stepdad had a really nice little apartment, and they seem to get him up and out to join in activities so I thought that was pretty good. He ordered ice cream a lot, but he didn't like their dinner. Everybody would say hi to him, he would say hi to them, and the place was kind of cozy. The staff was great, and the place was expensive, but it was nice. "

"My mother has moved into Crystal Garden RCFE. It's a very positive atmosphere. They really seem to care for their residents there. They engage with them in daily activities. They do extras, like the females get some extra grooming. Sometimes, they put a little lipstick on and style my mom's hair, and also they like celebrating the holidays. They have been very open to our family and even neighbors drop in to say hello to my mom. She's diabetic, so they changed up her menu. The idea was to give her the best nutrition and keep her healthy. I know that they altered her diet from what she was having at home to give her the best possible outcome for her diabetes. She's in memory care. They have dancing with music and time outdoors in their wheelchairs. They're able to go outdoors and enjoy good weather. I've also seen where they have the little stationary bike platforms, and they're able to do large motor activity pedaling. There have been no complaints. When I went to see it, the room was kept very tidy and clean. The residence itself didn't have any strange smell. It just smelled clean. There are indoor spaces and outdoor spaces for the residents to enjoy. Memory care is expensive, but the value is worth it. They offer laundry. My family is of the Christian faith, and my understanding is on Monday someone comes in to visit from the community and just has a little Bible study with them during their lunchtime. That spiritual pillar there is being considered."

"I'm leaning towards Golden Years Elderly Care, Inc. We liked that it is a home environment. They have the home set-up, which is very clean. I like that they have max residents of only six so they can give attention to their residents. I also like the compassion and the attitude of the caregivers. It's a husband-and-wife team. This is not something they have to do, it's something they chose to do because they love and care for the people that are there. The rooms were clean and ready keeping in mind safety first so that there were clear pathways for those patients who are high-risk falls. They have very clear and open spaces to walk. The bathroom also was set up with an open shower, and I believe they had bars to hold on to. There was also a dining area where the residents can have community time if they were able to sit together. And there was also a covered patio where they can sit outside. When I asked about their food, the wife let me know that they do home-cooked meals and that they do include the family's recommendations for their loved ones, and what items that the family likes, they will provide it. The place was immaculate. It's very clean."

"Jasmine is a beautiful person and a good cook and she truly cares about the people that she takes care of. But she needs more help. It is amazing what she's able to do by herself. She gives everyone special attention and she cooks them food that they like. They need to charge more and hire more people."

"Kar'n Care Home was excellent and I loved them. The place was great and clean. I loved the people. Everybody there looked happy and content. They take them out and I loved the fact that they have service dogs who work with people there. The food was good. It's a family-run business, and they were super nice. The rooms were good, and they had a modified shower that people can get in and out of, and that was smart. The house itself was smart and well thought out. They had a bus that was equipped for handicapped people, and they take them on outings. They also do barbeques. They're great in everything they do, just super."

"Skyline Villa is in a private home and only carries a maximum of 8 residents, each having their own room. It’s for more extreme care where you really have to watch the client. Some of them have their own patios. They have full access of the house which is huge. All the meals are done in this incredible room that overlooks what I call the million dollar view. That view is very impressive, and they have grassy recreation grounds so that you can go outside and walk. It has sidewalks so you can have a wheelchair out there and you can see the view. They have a gazebo. You can have your own private parties if you want. The rooms vary in size, but each room has its own private shower. The showers are all new and they’re done in mosaic tile. They’re absolutely beautiful and they’re large. They have enough room for a wheelchair and another caregiver to assist with any bathing needs. They do not have microwaves or ovens in their rooms, but they get all the food and snacks and everything they need right there at the facility. They’re treated very well there. They have one caregiver to 2 people so that’s a good ratio. "

"This is a great facility with excellent care givers. My Mom was there for almost a year and received a lot of personal attention. She was a picky eater but that didn’t stop them from trying different foods and drinks to find what she likes and make her favorite meals. I really can't express how grateful I am about the quality care she received it was so important for us. I will share that my mom passed while she lived at Carmel and the staff was incredible in helping me through a very hard time. My Aunt is also a resident there, and I will continue to visit her and see the staff. They're very Professional, Honest and Compassionate! They all went above and beyond for my Mom!! "The people at A Mission of Love seem to be giving my dad really great care. He actually likes it there. It's warm and comfortable. They feed him well and pay attention to him which is very much appreciated. He's only been there for a little over a month. They seem to care a lot and there's always somebody there for the people. The food looked and smelled good. The place is very homey and you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. Compared to everything else, the value is excellent."

"We visited and the staff was great. They’re excellent and superb. They were interactive with the patients and it looked like the patients come first, so it really was a nice place. I only see one activity while they were doing it, but everybody seemed to enjoy being there doing it. It looked nice. "

"I went to D'Vine Home. I like it because there are only 10 people they care for. A bigger place would be too much for my mom's health, and 10 people is like the perfect number. The place is close to my house. It's pretty clean, very neat, and had nice people. I talked to Glenn and his wife, and I saw all the old members that lived there. If mom ever has to go to one of these places, she will go to D'Vine because that's the one I like. The price is OK for us. They share a room. There are two in each room, which is OK. I saw the entertainment room. I saw a lady watching TV. I saw another room, where they were playing. There were other people sitting down reading or doing something with a book."

"I'm very happy with D'Desert Rose. I like the house, the atmosphere, and the room for my husband. It's very nice and cozy. When I first walked in, I immediately liked everything about it. So far so good, they're taking good care of him, and he's looking good. They have to help him get in and out of his wheelchair. He has memory problems, and he has dementia, but he's doing much better in being there. They're very concerned about him, they make sure he gets a haircut or a shave, and they take very good care of him. The staff even came out when I brought stuff to the house for him; they're very helpful. I haven't tried the food, but I've smelled it when I've been there visiting with him. I can't go in because of COVID; they're being very careful about that. So I speak to my husband through the window in the dining room, which is next to the window. I've been there while they're cooking, and it smelled very good."

"We visited Foremost Retirement Community. It's very nice and very good. Everything was just right. It's in a nice, quiet residential neighborhood. It seems secure, and that's important. It has a nice environment if you want to walk your dogs. There's a cute restaurant nearby. It's about a mile from the main strip of town where you'll find a Walgreens, the bank, and the post office. They're all relatively very close. The upkeep was just fine. It wasn't dirty, it was clean, and it was well-maintained. We looked at all the individual little apartments. They all have a parking spot and green grass in front. They're connected. You might have one or two neighbors, but they're very private. You don't get your meals or anything. You're totally on your own. They have a long kitchen. You could have a full-sized fridge, a four-burner stove, a sink, and a counter. And then the studio, you could set up a queen bed, a TV, a good-sized bathroom, and a little closet. The other nice thing is that it's only one level. There are no two stories, so you don't have to worry about climbing stairs or anything. They have both independent and assisted living. The staff who toured me was very helpful, friendly, and professional. She did great. You feel like you're in a little apartment building. It's so independent and quiet. The only thing is that you don't have a little private yard for your dog or cat. It's all just one big open area, so you don't have a patio, you don't have a place to barbecue, you don't have anything like that. "
