I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Arkansas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has been really good with my mother-in-law. The care has been excellent. They're very friendly. It's very clean. She is very comfortable in her room. Her therapy is excellent, and she is really enjoying it. The food is bland though, and often not enough for her. She stays active there, and they have a very big lobby with people sitting around comfortably.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I was not at all impressed with this facility. My father was told that she would be assign to a private room. The facility has a dedicated wing for dementia patients, however, once she was admitted, he was told there were no rooms available on that wing. She was placed in a wing with patients who were terminally ill. This was especially upsetting to her, as she was always a "caretaker". The facility directors became upset when we (her children) were a more or less "constant presence". The facility was not clean, the food was very undesirable, and the staff was unpleasant.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My father was a patient of this this facility for the last few months of his life. He was combative on some days and he had dementia, but they were always caring towards him and if he did not want to participate they did not force him. They kept his clothing clean and kept him bathed. The facility was clean though it smelled of urine as soon as you walk in the door. I do not believe they are able to keep some viruses at bay so patients are exposed to C-diff. That is what killed my father. If he had not contracted that from the facility I do believe he may have lived longer. The rooms are fairly roomy and have a tv for viewing pleasure. The open or recreation area is not very roomy so there were not many places to gather with more than a few people. The nurses were helpful and caring, and there were many CNAs that took good care of the patients. They were always friendly and helpful as well. If anything went wrong or badly they called right away to let us know. The food never looked appetizing to me, but I observed most patients eating it quite well. I sometimes thought they let some patients sit in their wheel chairs too long without some assistance though. Some patients were slumped over and would be that way all day.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I visited the nursing home where my grandfather was a resident. The facility was clean for the most part. The rooms were sized nicely and kept neat. However i thought the cafeteria room was a little small for the amount of staff and residents. With families visiting around the holidays it just got some what crowded. The staff were kind and what i consider well mannered. They kept the hallways clear and neat. I enjoyed the fact that they were spirited around the holidays. Everything was calm and peaceful. I enjoyed ky visits there. They took great care of my grandfather. They helped him get on a normal track before he completely shut down. Having him there helped us coop with knowing he wasnt going to make it. The peace through out the nursing home helped to keep everyone calm and happy. If it wasnt for this facility things would of been harder. Over all they were a great place and just right for my grandfather.
